Mixed feelings. If you have the possibility to buy for like 1,50 like I did, I would recommend it. You'll get at least 6+ hours out of it for sure, which I consider enough to justify a price tag of up to 5€. Everything above that I probably wouldn't recommend spending, and here's why:

The game idea is really fun, I must say. Controlling your own carrier strike group during the 2nd world war in Indochina and having the chance to fully customize your strike group is fun. I also like the concept of the attack card system were you arrange cards with effects and stats to surpass a certain defense or attack value the target has.

However: All in all, I feel the game needs polishing. I wouldn't call it pretty, but by no means unplayable. But with little possibilities to grow your collection of cards you have access to, that system gets a bit boring rather quick and some effects the enemy ships have are just nasty, cancelling out one third of your card inventory, making it impossible to attack a group if the effects the ships are just too powerful, worst case disabling access to two thirds of your deck, like what am I supposed to do with that then?

Also the attacks on your carrier seem weird. You are left alone at the beginning and in later missions you are absolutely spammed with enemy attacks from fleets that have no carrier. Also, you are not punished for sailing straight into a fleet of enemy battleships, the only way your strike group can be attacked is by air.

Talking about progression, you do have the opportunity to increase number of officers, change your carrier or your strike group (which is where the game really shines with a wide variety of ships), but especially the progression for the carrier is boring and hardly adds anything new. For example, for the second carrier, you get three plane elevators instead of one, but the two extras are never used, so what’s the point? The only real advantage is you get to take more planes on your missions, but I don’t consider that enough to really excite me.

TO conclude, in my opinion the attacks on you are a little to annoying, the gameplay gets to repetitive to quick, especially the attack card system, with little possibilities to grow your arsenal and the missions feel like a lot of the same over and over again. So buy if cheap, but I wouldn't recommend for anything above like 5€, but certainly not for 17
