This game is one of my top comfort games. Everyone hypes up Hades, and sure, it's pretty dandy. But Curse of The Dead Gods, is a sleeper hit, I'd say almost on par with Hades. Sure, in terms of combat and gameplay modifier selections, Hades is a step up. But Curse of the Dead Gods here is just SOLID. Sure, I'm mid at it, but it has solid, solid combat, a hearty selection of weapons rng, it's own gameplay modifiers that make the run just, sometimes really tricky, and that's what makes it so fun. It's this compact experience that keeps you on your toes. There's little to no bugs that I can find, and the gameplay loop just works really, really well. I'm not fully coherent right now, or my words would be more succinct, but it's a good game. If you enjoy Hades, I imagine you'll enjoy this.

Actually the second time I bought this. I got it for ps4, but my vision sucks and the tv was too far away so I wasn't able to get as far as I have with a pc up close. So, feels really good to hit those parries just right. The movement I'd say is on par with Hades, if not better. I think it's because I was upset that you can still get hit in hades when dodging, and this, it may be a bug, it may be intentional who's to say, you don't get hit while dodging, so that really threw me in the other game.

Anyhow, developer if you're reading this, the game is awesome. Sure itd be cool if you all added some more content, weapons, relics, curses, etc. but it's not needed. this was made a while ago, and it still holds up as a fantastic experience. Grade A game honest.

I really enjoyed the variability of runs and the challenging combat of this game. It's got a cool art style and the light mechanic is unique extra twist over other isometric roguelites.

This game does not feel good. Even if you learn the timing of most weapons and find ones that fit you, the rng is so spread out throughout the run that if you are unlucky you just lose the last 30 min because of a bad rng late game. That's not even talking about the traps/darkness mechanics, which are just unfair in the middle of a fight or when multiple enemies randomly synchronize and you have no attack window, leading you to just take a hit to break the dodge and stamina recharge loop.

TLDR: Devs focused on making this game challenging and unforgiving but forgot to make this game enjoyable and rewarding.
