Oh boy, where do I start? This game has me in a chokehold and I CANNOT get out of it. (It's worse for my sister- she's in the trenches with 168 hrs played. She is literally trying EVERYTHING)

Anyway, even the base game is phenomenal (for anyone who doesn't want to spend money) but I highly recommend that if you're going to romance Cove, buy the Wedding Story DLC. Why would you deny yourself the joy of seeing Cove all dressed up just for you?

I love that the side characters are developed with love, just like the main characters (you and Cove). I really appreciate that the team poured their soul into this. The fact that I have played several times and have experienced a plethora of differences makes it apparent that choices MATTER in this game (for little details- the MAIN premise stays pretty much the same), unlike other games where there's an illusion of choice. I think my first play-through took about 7 hours to finish, but I didn't have any DLC except the wedding. I think the only thing that threw me off is sometimes the artwork looks like... different? I guess. I'm not sure how to explain it. It just looks out of place or out of the norm. This may be because the main artist wasn't the one who did those pieces or hell, it was just an off day. It wasn't game breaking, I just noticed because I was trying to over analyze everything. But besides that, I literally couldn't find anything else about this game that I didn't absolutely LOVE. The music was enjoyable (I found myself humming at work), the characters are great (even when they act like jerks), the dialogue choices are fun, laughs and tears will be had, and you might hyperfixate like my sister and I have. (We went full "game theory" and tried to locate the whereabouts of this games location inspiration, based on context clues)

Moral of the story: Cove is precious and must be cherished and protected at all costs! If you're looking for a visual novel where you can tell a lot of love went into everything- this is it. Cove Holden is it!
