the second i start the game just when you start to hear sound the game crashhes and goes straight back to desktop. i have played before on here maybe a year ago and this time i just cant get the game to work ? any help would be great thank you

This Steam version (release 4.4.2) is very old. Do not use it. Go over to https://wz2100.net/news/ and grab the latest version (4.5.5 from 2024-11-13) from devs that actually release constant bugfixes and improvements.
