Rift Wizard is a master class in doing one thing and hitting it out of the park. There are an astonishing number of builds that are viable, and it's very engaging to plan your build and experiment. Can your spell loadout handle large groups as well as HP titans? What about ghosts? How about heavy-hitting enemies at long range? You gotta know what you can and can't fight, and plan your path accordingly.

This is a game that rewards experience and knowledge, and I think that's wonderful. The more I played the more engaged I was, and that's very rare for a game made by one dude.

Also consider getting Rift Wizard 2, which is more about adapting to what gifts are available, compared to the first which has less random elements. Both are great, just slightly different flavors.
