Hello, everyone!

We hope your week is going wonderfully! And to make it even better, here’s the latest Petit Island update! Version 1.0.0.5 is now live on Steam, bringing exciting new features and improvements to level up your island experience.

This update addresses several issues, including mission and task tracking errors when switching game languages, as well as audio crackling issues on certain devices, and more. But the real excitement comes with new ways to explore and interact with the world! With the new update, you can now purchase new rideable mounts, new wildlife has also arrived on the island, and you can finally share some love by petting the animals. Additionally, you can now play with soccer balls and beach balls scattered around the environment whenever you’re in the mood for a little fun.

We can’t wait for you to dive into this update and enjoy all the new additions! Make sure to check all the details in the patch notes below.

Fixes:

🌴 Fixed an audio crackling issue on certain devices.
🌴 Resolved a navigation bug on the Menagerie page when it was full of items.
🌴 Corrected various grammar issues.
🌴Fixed an issue preventing navigation using the shoulder button when the map was hidden.
🌴 Resolved a bug where the Journal could not be closed in certain instances.
🌴 Improved navigation behavior on the Selling/Buying page.
🌴 Fixed a camera issue with the Berrylama, preventing it from clipping into its body.
🌴 Addressed a bug where Tony Bananalama persisted post-game.
🌴 Fixed an issue causing certain NPCs to get stuck while walking.
🌴 Adjusted UI legend text and images to improve spacing.
🌴 Fixed mission and task tracking errors when changing the game language.
🌴 Players can now continue the game even if they haven't completed the EFN Homage side quest.
🌴 Resolved a bug that allowed fishing in vertical landscapes.
🌴 Fixed an issue where the cursor disappeared when using a controller in the Journal.
🌴 Adjusted the success criteria for the "Catch All Fish" achievement to exclude trash items (boots, sponges, cans) to prevent confusion.
🌴 Fixed a bug causing the Entomologist and Ichthyologist introduction dialogue to repeat.
🌴 Resolved an issue where the interaction button appeared above a digging hole in Chapter 09.

🐢 Volcano Island Terrain Adjustments: Improved accessibility to legendary bugs.
🐢Phone Left Cinematic Change: Now plays as an animation instead of a cinematic (based on player feedback).
🐢Updated Sound Assets: The shocked emoji sound has been modified (based on player feedback).
🐢 Environmental Enhancements: Additional props have been added to the world.
🐢Bug Catching Update: Sneaking while catching bugs is now less sensitive (based on player feedback).
🐢 UI/UX Improvements: Updated the Furniture and Rideable pages in the Journal to help players better track collectible items.
🐢 NPC Relocations: Some NPCs have been repositioned.
🐢Geocache Adjustments: The geocache for the Scout Mission has been relocated.

Petit Island is a delightful, cute and wholesome game for all ages and there is plenty to do! You can personalise Lily's dress, backpack and what type of cat she is.
You play as Lily who loves her Grandpaw dearly and is sad to see his memory declining. Grandpaw was a great adventurer in his heyday and has become quite depressed. Lily decides to recreate his journal with adventures of her own and to revisit some of Grandpaws friends on Petit Island. Armed with her camera and enthusiastic zeal, she sets off on her mission.
Lily's main quest is to visit Grandpaws friends and to take photos of them. All these friends send her off on errands for themselves and reminisces about their childhood. Each friend introduces you to a new part of the island. You bump into quite a few NPC's...some you can interact with, but others you can't.
No rest for you on the island! You can fish, catch bugs or dig up mounds to earn money. You require the money to buy furniture or new mounts to get around the island. Lily even joins the scouts and some of those quests were quite quirky, but enjoyable! The world is quite big and consists of 3 islands, but there is a map to guide you.
Most of these wholesome games has a message to them. This one is about the love and respect for your grandparents; helping others in time of need; working hard and being kind to others, even when they are rude to you. Lily excels on all levels and matches her Grandpaw in integrity and courage.
Graphics are simple, cute and colourful. Music is jaunty and happy. The tune changes in different environments. I found the movement good on keyboard and the mounts zoomed along at top speed. And Lily is even able to be like Mary Poppins....carried along on an umbrella! So cute! She does die when she goes into deep water, but you respawn close by.
You can pretty much explore anywhere on Petit Island. You can climb towers which are great from jumping from with the umbrella and jump over fences. The only place I couldn't reach was the top of Volcano Island. It is on that island that you learn all about the lore of Petit Island. Be sure to hop into the hot springs!
The island does looks a little bare, but the dev has improved on that point and the additions are so cute! I did find the menu rather laborious when you have to choose either a net or fishing rod. So many clicks to go through to open and shut the inventory, but you do get used to it.
There is only one accessibility factor and that is with fishing; you can just hold the button and not spam it to reel in the fish. Don't sell any of the fish or insects until you get those achievements! There is a good guide online if you get stuck. There are also chairs scattered around the islands where you can take in the view and have a rest from all the hard work!!
I didn't have any motion sickness in this game, even though Lily skips along. I did find towards the end, that it was a bit of a grind to get the last achievement because you had to catch another round of insects and fish.
If you want to escape from the hurly burly of real life, submerse yourself in this cute game and help restore Grandpaws memories! Highly recommend. 8.5/10

Audio crackleing

so i just got the game booted it up and the sound is crackling so much, its painful. i tested my headphones, it wasn't them as all other sound except the game is fine, so cool great i will just turn off the music and head in new game where i found out its not just the music its all sound (its easier to notice on the music) is anyone else having this problem? how do i fix? i didn't want to play the game with absolutely no sound :(...

Can't fish

As hard as I try I simply can't fish at all. Whenever a fish bites the bait I never reel it in. Every time I press the action button Lilly simply pulls the bait out and nothing else happens. I tried limiting my framerate to 60 and 30 FPS just in case, to no avail. Is there something I am missing?...
