As a major fan of Lovecraftian horror, this game was a real treat.

While you will definitely find yourself stumbling around in the dark for the first days of your first playthrough, the game is intuitive enough and doesn't rely on too much moon-logic to advance its story. Outcomes are fairly logical, and it all relies on finding the right thing to say or do to get progression.

It speaks volumes that, as someone who doesn't usually like adventure games and thinks the original story is one of Lovecraft's weakest, that I think this is among the best Lovecraftian games in terms of capturing the feel and spirit of the stories. This makes you feel like you're really playing through a great Call of Cthulhu (the TTRPG) adventure.

Don't let early game frustration wear you down. This is a can't-miss title.

I did not think i would like this game as much as i ended up doing. Its a solid side scroller RPG that more or less does not hold your hand. i found myself getting invested in the story and the life of the main character. i will add that it feels like your playing a session of call of cthulthu in the best way possible.
