I like that you don't need to start the game with Sir Bunalot and instead have a variety of characters to choose from. Haven't progressed too far with the Debt levels, but I use them as a challenge to try learning different characters and their setups. When playing different characters, certain items that seemed useless finally seem to find a purpose, which I appreciate. I haven't played through all of the characters yet, but each one feels unique and their pros/cons are fun to work with.

Sometimes the claw (whatever it may be) is infuriating, but not nearly as bad as real claw machines. Item/trait unlocks are RNG-heavy, but you have the ability to reroll items (and even skip, if you want).

Runs (up to the final boss on floor 20) don't usually last longer than 1 hr for me (unless you decide to continue with infinite levels), so losing a run isn't the end of the world and you can knock out a few floors if you have a bit of free time to kill. Note that while you can save a run, save scumming isn't really a thing and it'll wipe your save after you die. You also can't save multiple slots of the same run either. The final boss can be infuriating since his attacks scale up fast and hit hard and often, but all enemy attack patterns (including his) are easy to remember.
