The best party-based CRPG ever made, IMHO.
+ fantastic interface
+ character development is a game on its own and it's great
- the game world is too restricted, mostly moving in narrow corridors
- level-based spawning of opposition, the constant tough battles can get pretty tedious

Out of the three games in what is considered the "Second Wizardry Trilogy" (Wizardry VI, VII & VIII), this one feels less like the other two. Reason being, there was a significant gap in time between this one's development and release to its predecessors. With that, it doesn't have quite the same aesthetic as the two before it, which get the edge in that department. VI & VII just happened to come out at the height of classic PC dungeon crawlers and the nostalgia (at least for me) is stronger with them. Although, this game is the most forgiving of the three. So, if you want something a bit less brutal, this might be your Wizardry game. However, I prefer taking my axes to the face, but few are as tough as I.
