What units do you recommend I use in this fight. I'm warrior lvl 23

When should I start taking leadership instead of stats for level up? I'm currently lvl 9 and Leadership is about 500 now when leveling up.

So I read that not only are units in shops somewhat random, but so are items/scrolls. Pretty early on, I found the Well of Mana belt item, that regens a bit of mana per turn, which has been an awesome help, especially with even 1 point in Concentration giving me 5 mana back per turn. Did I stumble on to something good, or do much better items start to show up at some point? Is there a chance that due to the randomness, I could potentially miss out on some "best in slot" items?
