Welcome to the third Brighter Shores Weekly Leek. We've had an exciting week, including a new quest launch, so let's dive in!

What we've been working on this week

Technical team

Andrew has been working on:
• New starter inductions.
• Compliance with the UK Online Safety Act.
• Annual Reviews.
• Breaking LED strips in half with Samuel.

James has been working on:
• Compliance with the UK Online Safety Act.
• Launching Herbalist's Hurdle Quest, including post-launch fixes.

Ian has been working on:
• Fixing bugs.
• Boss Fight coding for the Hopeport 6 ⭐️ quest.

Content team

Paul has been working on:
• Story coding (pre-graphics) for the Mine of Mantuban 6 ⭐️ quest.
• Consuming Lemsip.

Bug fixes

• You can no longer store forensics potions in the potion belt. Any forensics potions already stored there will remain, but will not be used when doing forensics.
• Remove drink option from forensics potions in the potion belt.
• Block tile which when stood in, prevented the Feral Cat boss from doing it's special attack.
• Fix error when trying to pull a crate backwards into a wall.
• Improve ambience in Podium Cave.

Chore simulator, no enjoyment, developers could do many low-hanging fruits to make game more enjoyable, but simply for idk what reason refuse. I dont think they like their own game or consider it fun, they probably don't play (who would?)

Buff Fear Potions

Right now they're 3m/6m/9m/12m/15m. The base potions are fine and shouldn't be changed but the others you're better off just selling them and buying back the basics. I propose changing the scaling from a flat 3 minutes per potion to the following: Basic: 3 minutes Upgraded: 6 minutes -> 9 minutes Potent: 9 minutes -> 27 minutes Advanced: 12 minutes -> 30 minutes Ultimate: 15 minutes -> 60 minutes The first two tiers can be bought from the shop with the second tier being about 5x as expensive. I feel like the game is promising, but it's structure is going to be it's downfall.

There are many issues hindering culture: 1) The levels are harsh. There are 500 levels for trainable skills (more for combat). This means that there's too much overlap when it comes to distributing things to train. You will go from killing frogs, to birds, to bandits, to frogs again (this is a general example) which will create a cycle, rather than nice linear progression. You can't be excited to try something new, because you already did it prior, potentially multiple times... This means that rather tha...
