So I have it a shot, everything can be summed up simply as. Half-baked and clunky as all hell. All I wanted was a good space sim where I could be a trader or a pirate, but theres so much to question about this title. Theres clearly promise here but its a broken one.

One thing upfront. This game of the X-Universe is the weakest one. This one tried to streamline the complexity and controles of the original series. Unfortuntatly that backfired and it lost a lot of it's core strengths that make the other entries of the series great for a nieche group of players. At the same time the game is not really streamlined enough to be good for a general audience.

With that out of the way I can still recommend this game, especially with all of the updates brought to the game after release. The game is now in state that it should have been at the start.
If you are a fan of the X-Univerese this is an interesting deviation for a "quick" holiday away from the spread sheets of the original series.
If you are not a fan of the Universe or the gameplay, this game could give you a way into the gameplay.

Overall I would recommend this game if you can get it on a discount and want to experience a fresh story. If you want the full experience than skip this one and go straight to the original series.
