We're happy to announce that Pixeluvo version 1.5 is now live!

This version adds a whole bunch of improvements to make working with Pixeluvo more productive, including:

• A simple way to open an image directly onto a layer inside another project (simply choose File->Open Onto Layer)
  
• A new photocopy filter (useful for creating 'Tom goes to the Mayor' memes as requested by user Ebola)
  
• Automatic creation of masks from the current selection when creating adjustment layers
  
• Quickly enable/disable masks by shift+clicking the mask preview
  
• A whole bunch of other user interface improvements

Behind the scenes work continues on some more far-reaching improvements, but more on that another time...

There are now some new video tutorials to help with learning Pixeluvo.

Currently there are tutorials on getting started, some special techniques for working with portrait photos, and an introduction to layers and masks. If you have any suggestions for future tutorials please let us know.

For those of you that were having trouble launching Pixeluvo on KDE (getting an error about 'incompatible libraries'), there's now an update that should fix this issue.
