Feedback Patch - Alpha 0.40

This patch is intended to address concerns submitted by players through the in-game feedback form. Please continue to provide feedback to help improve the game.

Paint:
- Players can now change materials and apply paints to their vehicle.
- Temporarily removed painting of individual parts.

Minimap:
- Increased minimap size by 20%.
- Correctly displays real-world coordinates of the map.
- Player and Enemy icons are now displayed above other icons.
- Enemy icons correctly align with the corresponding vehicle's forward direction.

Tutorial:
- Players can now retry the distance score challenge.

Levels:
New York City:
- Each enemy now has a unique weapon loadout.
- Environmental props have been reworked to prevent getting stuck under the vehicles and impeding their movement.
- Temporarily removed highly obstructive environmental props.
- Reduced memory requirements.

Grand Canyon:
- Removed some ground rock formations to prevent vehicles from getting stuck.

AI Enemies:
- AI is now better at avoiding obstacles.
- AI will no longer pursue or fire at targets when their line of sight is obstructed.

Time To Kill:
- TTK has been doubled for all vehicles (avg. HP increased from 100 to 200).
- Vehicles that previously had 2 primary weapons now have 1 primary weapon (this is to facilitate weapon rebalancing and prevent high-powered weapons from being abused on some vehicles).

Weapons:
- Added muzzle flash effects to all weapons.

Vulcan (Gatling):
- Fire rate increased from 15RPS to 50RPS.
- Audio changed to replicate a real gatling gun and to be less obtrusive with the new fire rate.

Solo Gun:
- Increased damage from 15 to 20.
- Increased projectile velocity from 200 to 300.
- Decreased size of impact and heat distortion effects by 50%.

Sniper:
- Increased damage from 25 to 45.
- Increased burnout rate from 25 to 55.

Shot Gun:
- Increased damage from 1x20 to 2x20.
- Decreased burnout rate from 30 to 26.

Seeker:
- Increased damage from 7.5 to 20.
- Increased burnout rate from 10 to 20.
- Decreased trail effects by 50%.

Rail Gun:
- Increased damage from 4 to 10.
- Increased fire rate from 2RPS to 4RPS.
- Decreased burnout rate from 15 to 10.

Loading Screen:
- Added helpful information about hotkeys and weapon mechanics. Next patch will including rotating mini-tutorials to cover more aspects of the game that the tutorial doesn't.

Bugs:
- Fixed an audio bug that caused the vehicle to play unintended crash sounds.
- Fixed an audio bug that prevented audio slider settings from affecting vehicle sounds.

VFX Content Update - Alpha 0.32

Content:

Projectiles impacting unarmored metal will create bullet holes/scorch marks and expose internal components for critical damage.
Able to penetrate unarmored doors to eliminate the driver and front bumper/hood to deal massive engine damage.
Added 17 new death explosions that realistically react with surrounding light sources.

The next update will include widescreen resolution support, longer time-to-kill, y-axis inversion, weapon balance pass, and an audio effects pass.

Major Performance Overhaul - Alpha 0.31

Performance across all devices has increased by an average of 50–60% when using DX12, and 25–50% when using DX11.

The target framerate has doubled from 60 FPS to 120 FPS.

DX12 has been introduced for the following benefits:

Split jobs (33% performance gain): Large objects normally rendered by the GPU are now split into smaller parts and distributed across all CPU cores. This significantly reduces GPU load and individual CPU overhead.
Baked shadows and pre-rendered shaders (17% performance gain): Some static shadows are now pre-rendered to avoid real-time calculations. Shaders are also prebaked to reduce performance spikes. This significantly reduces GPU rendering load.
DLSS (10%-20% performance gain): On low- and mid-end devices, DLSS dynamically lowers the resolution and upscales it to your selected setting. This activates when framerate drops below 60 FPS, ensuring smooth gameplay regardless of scene complexity.
Vegetation improvements, GPU occlusion culling, and burst jobs: General performance enhancements prevent rendering objects outside the player's view, combine similar objects into one draw call (e.g., 200 trees rendered as one object), and pre-process some rendering tasks before gameplay starts.

Players who previously averaged 60 FPS should now expect around 120 FPS. Those who were below 60 FPS should now exceed 60 FPS, provided they meet the minimum recommended system requirements.

This is the first of three scheduled performance overhauls, and we will continue improving graphics settings and performance across all devices.

Fixes & QoL - Alpha 0.22

Enemy vehicles now respect their weapon's rate of fire instead of firing as fast as their animations allow.
Added a full-screen border indicator to notify the player when their health falls below 50%.
The player now correctly dies when health is depleted.
Various map and performance improvements.

We are aware of performance constraints on low and mid-range devices and will soon update the playtest with the first of 3 scheduled optimization passes.

Vehicle Adjustments

Fixed a bug that caused the vehicle to swerve during high-speed braking

Added vehicle control assists:

TCS - improved traction during drifting.
ABS - improved braking system that prevents wheel lock-up.
ESC - improved stability when turning or crashing

Known bug: dust trails are pink when viewed from certain angles

Content and Balance Update - Alpha 0.15

Content:

New vehicle added: Police Interceptor.
Active Ability: Grapple hook. Can be used to close the distance or dismember your target.
Passive Ability: Overtake. When passing a vehicle from behind, instantly destroy them.

Balance:

Average vehicle weight increased from 1,600lbs. to 4,000lbs to reduce "floatiness".
Traction increased by 33% across all surfaces.
Shotgun damage reduced by 50% (10x5 to 5x5).
Missile damage reduced by 40% (50 to 33).
Enemies retreat when health falls below 25%.
Enemy pursuit speed reduced by 33% - 50%.
