GRID 2 released way back when in 2013, yet it looks and plays like a racing game of today, which is to say - the graphics are excellent and the controls are smooth as butter. Mind you that GRID 2 is more of an arcade racer, rather then it's sim-cade predecessor.

Let's start with the positive things:
In the career mode you're basically tackling on events and challenges in order to promote the organization you're driving for - the World Series Racing. The progression is layed out to you in a linear fashion and there is no cash to spend nor upgrades to purchase. What you get is what you get. You receive cars for free as well as for doing special vehicle challenges to unlock certain cars. The roster is pretty good with around 70 cars to boot with quality models, sounds and minor customization options such as colors and livery patterns. The UI presentation deserves a shoutout as well, with it feeling quite cinematic and unlike other racing games in the more contemporary series like Need for Speed or Gran Turismo.

Here are some negatives:
- The game pretty much lacks any sort of racing music. While there are music tracks playing in the menu, and they're pretty chill, it doesn't change the fact that one of the more important aspects of a good racing game is it's music, and the game has around 3 tracks, that play during select events in the career. This happens so rarely, that you'll be surprised there's any music at all everytime it starts to play.
- Customizing your cars is incredibly tedious with you being forced exit all the way back to the main menu, scroll through the list of cars you own, wait until the car you want drives into the menu and only then can you customize them. Needless to say, I got pretty tired of doing that and only customized the cars I actually used to race.

With that being said, GRID 2 is still a pretty good racing game, fairly lengthy and not too hard. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to relax while obliterating your opponents into the walls with your McLarens and Nissans and what not.

Yes, very good racing. Can't believe this game is 10+ years old.

Gotta get clean racing if you wanna win without wrecking your car.
