I’ve played over 10k hours of shooters and not a single one has ever made me as nauseous and physically unwell as bulletstorm. Mechanically, it’s fast, creative, and packed with explosive action. The skillshot system is clever, the gunplay is satisfying, and on paper, this should be a blast. But none of that matters when the game is so visually overwhelming and physically punishing that I couldn’t play for more than half an hour without getting a migraine.

It offers ZERO accessibility settings. No FOV slider. No option to disable motion blur. No camera shake control. FOV is dynamic, which makes the zoom from ironsights to aiming down sights go in like x10 and the zoom animation for aiming down sights has a delay and fully aiming in takes 5 second with this delay. It looks like it's being played from pov of a piss drunk super soldier. For a game this fast and chaotic that’s not just a minor oversight, it’s a design failure. Even players who normally don’t experience motion sickness are likely to feel disoriented. In my case, thirty minutes in, I was hit with a full-on migraine and lingering nausea. That has never happened to me in any game before.

This migraine started yesterday evening and lasted for the whole day today. Now, a day later I made a second attempt and nausea came back instantly.

How did this get past QA? How does a major re-release of a AAA shooter ship without basic visual comfort options that have been industry standard for years? This isn’t about being picky. I'm physically unable to enjoy a game because the developers didn’t think accessibility was worth their time. It’s lazy, it’s negligent, and it’s infuriating.

The game's writing is cartoonishly stupid and more often than not funny in a "laughing at it" type of way. However the gameplay is really fun and there are enough set pieces throughout to always keep it interesting. It's basically a big dumb action movie and once you complete the campaign there's a great new game+ mode if you're into that sort of thing.

Ever kicked a shirtless man into a cactus while drunk? This game kicks ass in all the different ways to kick ass! just ignore the dialogue and turn your brain off. Besides basic shooter mechanics the highlight is in how it rewards you to find creative ways to kill your enemies; you literally cannot afford to buy ammo if you don't think outside the box when fighting! Just ignore the dialog and story and go crazy!
