An incredible JRPG, with a complex battle system that becomes more fun the more you understand it and can break it completely (with things like almost 100% dodge chance, or almost 0 delay after casting), and an absolutely incredible story with an even more incredible cast of characters. There is so much dialogue in this game - it is absolutely incredible. Characters will have something new to say almost everytime the story moves even a little.
My only complaint is that there wasn't more of the main character Rean Schwarzer (God I Wish He Were Real I Would Be His Best Friend)
Cannot recommend this game enough, give it a shot and fall in love with the world of Trails and Rean, haha.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I is everything I love about JRPGs. It starts with a simple school setting, but quickly builds into a deep, emotional story full of political intrigue, personal struggles, and massive stakes.

Class VII isn’t just a group of party members — by the end, they feel like real friends you’ve grown with. Every character has layers, every side story matters, and the world feels alive in a way few games achieve. The turn-based combat is tight and strategic, with systems that reward smart planning without being overwhelming.

Yes, it's a slow burn at first, but once the story picks up, it hits hard. That cliffhanger? I couldn’t start Cold Steel II fast enough.
