Vaporum is a grid-based dungeon crawler RPG in an original steampunk setting, inspired by old-school classics of the genre. Stranded in the middle of an ocean, in front of a gigantic tower, the hero has to find out what the place is, what happened there, and most importantly, who he is.

Legend of Grimrock does it better

I don't know or understand why a game developer would see a game dev make pits which you can fall into which add new levels and depth to the game and then decide 'what if those were instadeath instead?' but uh yeah. This game is trash. The sheer volume of times in which the game decides to either randomly have a pit or 'have a pit which is triggered by a button along a path which you already traveled' is too damn high. (And that's to say that if it happens once, it's too many) Sorry but I don't like losin...

Steam wanted keystrokes after installing Vaporum

I just purchased and installed Vaporum on Mac. I got a popup that Steam wanted to get keystrokes from other applications—which I denied. When the game started, the buttons didn't respond to clicks. Is this a known problem? Is it related to the keystroke request? That seems risky to approve. Appreciate any advice....

Thinking about buying one of them Why is Lockdown cheaper then Vaporum, Lockdown is newer? Is it shorter or was it not as well recieved?

Oddball expert idea: Literate Mapping and Monster Stats Logging

I reinstall and resume 3 new Brutal runs, in parallel. More on that later. I play stop-time, with save/load, and I peek at all of the hidden secrets Guides. =============== 1. Literate Mapping =============== I must be the slowest player on Steam, in every game. I run Sheets on a 2nd monitor, and log every stat I can see on the screen. 70% - 90% of my time is spent paused, typing into my Sheet, or reading from it. My 90+ hours is like a speedrunner's 1 hour, or something like that. This methodology work...

I don't understand the point of real time combat in a tile-based game.

Many puzzles require you to be very, very fast. I'm talking about a microsecond here. And even if you set the difficulty to the lowest setting to easily overcome the battles, the speed puzzles will block your progress, unless you tryhard.

Also, the RPG aspect is completely superficial, you don't make any real choices, you're on rails.

So, if you were looking for a relaxing RPG game, this isn't it.
