Probably the worst compatible game I wasted money on here on Steam. Completely worthless and unplayable. No setting adjustments allow me to play it. Anyone else having zero luck playing this game, regardless of the settings they apply?

I want to know who. I want answers. How this game was released in this state without bugfixes or any sort of futureproofing is baffling -- let alone the fact that none of the braintrust at LucasArts back in the day ever thought of implenting mouse controls into this game, or Grim Fandango for that matter. This game's control scheme is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disaster....

Serious question, why is this mini-game the only thing people talk about in regards to Escape? I can understand getting frustrated with it if you're going off memory, but it's incredibly easy to write out some sort of chart. There is trial and error, but that's true for literally every insult fighting segment in this series....

After I navigate the marsh, when I finally reach Pegnose Pete's house there's an animation of the raft approaching the dock. Guybrush lets go of the paddle, but then immediately picks it up again and freezes. Music is going on in the background but I can't do anything at this point - I can't move Guybrush nor open his inventory and none of the action keys work (E/I/U/P/L, ...). All I can do is pause the game with SPACE or open the menu with F1. I already tried loading an earlier save but this always happen...

I've tried playing Escape from Monkey Island on Windows 10, but the cut-scenes would not play. I got the cut-scenes working on Ubuntu Linux with Proton 6.3 After reaching Jumbalaya Island I've discovered some dialogues were cut off. Finally took a look at ProtonDB and installed Proton 5.13. Looks like Ubuntu Linux is the best OS for Windows legacy games. TLDR: Run this on Steam Linux with Proton 5.13. It works really well! Note: You can safely ALT+TAB or WIN-KEY out of the game without crashing it...
