I have been playing again after years ( decades?) and I am learning a lot from forums, Reddit, YouTube, etc. that I never knew. It seems like an interceptor with 2 Plasma cannons can reliably take down anything up to medium size. I hear it is best to let large and very large ships land and assault them on the ground with Skyranger ( or the fancy one with less cargo space ). So do I even need Avengers?...

Without giving spoilers.. In the new X-COM 2 there's a time limit where the aliens build a project and you lose if they finish it. Is there something present in this game, where there's always a time clock towards defeat?
