So I have played both the previous games and loved them a lot, however I really hated how the second game forced me to play as what I assume is the protagonist of the other games in the series, if I wanted to see the ending. I have played no other games outside Cold Steel and don't really want to just to understand whats happening in this series. If I play 3 will I be forced to play other groups that I have no interest or clue about? No spoilers please....

There appears to be an issue in my NG++ playthrough, specifically in Chapter 1, where if I enter combat and start using crafts etc, the framerate drops and stays low until I restart the game. The more combats I enter, the lower the framerate goes until it's unplayable.
