America's Army Mentor Program.

We are happy to announce the launch of the America's Army Mentor Program.

In what we believe to be an innovation in gaming, we have recruited some of the most skilled players from the America’s Army community to act as mentors for new players joining the game. Inspired by the teamwork and training integral to success in the Army, Mentors will offer tips to new players, including basic “map survival skills,” affording players the best chance for success while operating as part of a team. In addition, mentors will be available outside of scheduled sessions to assist players who require additional instruction. Sessions will be conducted on official U.S. Army servers and concentrate on specific maps in which all players, both new and old, are welcome to participate.

Complementing the existing technical support available, both on America’s Army IRC (AAIRC) and the Forums, the AAMP will complete the circle of support provided to players and ensure that all members of the AA Community have the most enjoyable experience possible.

The inaugural Mentor Session was on Friday 16th Jan 2009 at 9pm EST.

This was an Urban Assault training Session concentrating on the following areas of activity:

* General Map Layout
* Navigation from spawn point to Objectives
* Defense and Assault choke points/Camp Points
* Useful map tips

Sessions are every 1-2 weeks and are usually on a Saturday @ 5 pm EDT (New York time)

The next AAv3 Mentor Program (AAMP) session will take place on Saturday, August 8th at 5pm EDT. If there is any confusion on the time zone difference, please use this time zone conversion tool to convert from UTC 21:00:00 to your time zone.

This session will be on the map named: Ranch. This session is a basic level training Session concentrating on the following areas of activity.

* Role Selection & Weapons
* What are the types of missions (Classic, VIP & Take and Hold)
* Mission Objectives
* Spawn & Navigation to Objective(s)
* Choke Points (Danger Areas)
* Team Communications
* Survival & Combat Tips

The session will last approximately 1 hour and session information will be sent to all those attending.
You will need AA3 v3.0.5 and BCT (basic combat training) to get into the session server.

In order to sign up for this session please post in this thread requesting to attend. You will then be contacted with further details via PM an hour or so before the actual session start time. Places are limited and work on a first come first served basis so don't delay, sign up today!!

If you intend to sign up for an AAMP session it would be appreciated if you make sure to read the PM you will be sent as it contains all the information you will need to join the session. Please ensure to show up, 30 minutes prior to session start, as instructed in the PM, to ensure that you can connect to the game server and the Team Speak server.
