SOBRE The Water Cooler (filled with whiskey)

Talking about Games, the Universe, and Everything

This little group is an experiment to find a place to talk about games, pop culture and everything that makes this bleak and dystopian world fun.

A kind of "private forum" where we keep can keep the riffraff out and celebrate gaming, not showing off how snide and sarcastic we can be.

Discussing (and dissecting) games can often be just as much fun as playing them, and this is a place to do it. Feel free to post, comment and share your thoughts and opinions.

(We are currently using the Groupchat as an makeshift IRC, it works surprisingly well)

Reasonable gaming stationery PC. Surprising performance with APU but I'm going to want a 5k series later. Neat company though.

Fenix, probably, Gemini especially made quite the jump with Pro 2.5.

I tried to have software testing the fans and learnt they can get even louder under stress, but then the software didn't even mention the case fans as controllable. It only found the others ...

"Should be able to control the fans via the BIOS, perhaps they are not connected correctly or something?"

That was my suspicion, but there's also a chance I don't really understand what I see in the BIOS. I can identify the CPU fan, but other than that, it only shows one other fans working, and I don't know which one that is. Is it possible that all four fans installed in the case are just shown as one in the BIOS? But I set that one to be "controlled smartly", and it didn't seem to make a difference concerning the noise. Or maybe I'm just too sensitive, and it's expected for a system with so many fans to be louder, even in idle mode? My old PC only had one in the case.

In my personal experience, coding results of OpenAI models are actually not ... That great? Like most of the time, they're vastly outmatched by Claude or Gemini.

Then again, there may be API and context limitations that lead to these issues as opposed to actual model performance.

New AI code feature. Useful for senior devs but unfortunately not quite there with self correction apparently so not autonomous coding many are waiting for.
