Classic DOOM + DOOM II Multiplayer

Odamex is a free, open source, cross-platform (Mac, Windows, Linux) modification of the Doom engine that allows players to connect together easily. The goal of Odamex is to add enhancements to Doom while still retaining that "classic Doom feel" we all know and love about the original game.

Odamex has a client/server architecture with a launcher that allows players to come and go freely into servers without having to restart a game. In addition to the original Doom's Cooperative and Deathmatch; the following game modes are also supported:

Team Deathmatch
Capture the Flag
Last Man Standing
Survival Cooperative
Horde Mode Cooperative

While Odamex is free software, an iwad is required to play it. These iwads are found with copies of Ultimate Doom (doom.wad), Doom II (doom2.wad), Final Doom (tnt.wad and plutonia.wad), Shareware Doom (doom1.wad), Chex Quest (chex.wad) or FreeDoom. Doom II is the most commonly modded game and most servers require it. Additionally, there is also support for detecting the various wads that make up The Master Levels for Doom II expansion pack.

Of course the Odamex community is very small, but growing. It is home to the World Doom League, North American Doom Association, was even the port of choice for Quakecon! Hi! What are the odds of getting a flatpak version of Odamex?
I was surprised how easy it is to get Crispy Doom running on the Steam Deck via a flatpak that was listed on Discover. But I immediately thought how awesome a Steam Deck LAN party with Odamex would be. Alas it's not in that appstore.

Hi KValda. Download the pwad you want to play and put it in your odamex folder. Then go into the Odamex console and type "wad nameofwad.wad" and it should load. More commands can be found on the doom wiki https://doomwiki.org/wiki/PWAD and if you need more detail feel free to ask on Discord.
