It's been a long while since the last announcement. During this time frame, I have had the fortunate opportunity to meet a few of you in the group discussions and I was anonymously promoted to a moderator at some point earlier this month. I'd like to thank the administrator who promoted me, I am truly grateful for this surprise! It's a pleasure to meet you all, this is my first announcement! My name is Serdar, I'm a STEINS;GATE fan just like you!

Today, I wanted to breathe some life back into this group by sharing some breaking news that will likely pique your interest. This news is actually 6 months old as of the time that I am writing this announcement, but it hasn't reached most of the community yet. You may have heard of it through the group description or through the group discussions, but in this post, I'll be dissecting the upcoming: "STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT"!

Lab members, so far there are only four visual novels about the STEINS;GATE series on Steam, and in chronological order of publishing, those visual novels are: STEINS;GATE, STEINS;GATE: My Darling's Embrace, STEINS;GATE: Linear Bounded Phenogram and STEINS;GATE 0. It's also the full recommended order that you should experience the visual novels in. Depending on your preferences, you could also add a fifth visual novel to the end of that list and debate that STEINS;GATE ELITE is also a part of the club. STEINS;GATE 0 was the latest installment in the STEINS;GATE series which presented us with new content. STEINS;GATE 0 was released on Steam in 2018, and since then, many fans have been wondering if there will be more visual novels releasing about STEINS;GATE.

The answer to this common question is yes!

Currently, 3 more STEINS;GATE visual novels are planned to release in the future:

Among this trio lineup, only STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT has a set release date. Today, I'll just be sharing the deets on STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT.


Set to release sometime within this year (2025), STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is a modern day reboot[en.wikipedia.org] of the original 2009 STEINS;GATE visual novel. Unlike STEINS;GATE 0 ELITE and STEINS;???, which were both announced 5 years ago, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT was abruptly announced for the first time at the very end of the: "STEINS;GATE 15th LIVE - ONE WORLD[steinsgate.jp]" event, which was a real life event that celebrated STEINS;GATE's 15th anniversary at Japan and took place on October 27, 2024. It was the same day that the STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT trailer released. The sudden announcement of a new entry in the STEINS;GATE series surprised the ONE WORLD event attendees as much as everyone else! October 27, 2024 would be the only day that MAGES Inc. - the company behind the development of the STEINS;GATE series, would share information about STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT. So, in a nutshell, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT was only spoken of during one day, and never heard of again, but we know that it's coming this year!


It's very exciting knowing that we'll be able to experience STEINS;GATE once again but a bit differently this time, isn't it? There are many different speculations out there about the new story additions, but I'd like to share the most plausible one that I have heard of so far as well as my own ideas.

I believe that the most plausible speculations belong to Bassman on YouTube. Now, Bassman doesn't have an idea on what the brand new stories could exactly be about but Bassman has a concrete assumption on where this new STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT game is coming from. On a video containing ending spoilers for ANONYMOUS;CODE, which is another visual novel part of the parent series of STEINS;GATE - the Science Adventure series, titled: "Steins;Gate Re:Boot Announced for 2025 — What It Means", Bassman emphasizes that STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT should be seen as a metasequel which begins following the ending of ANONYMOUS;CODE. Bassman believes that the STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT universe (by universe, I am referring to all of the worldlines in it) was created as a result of the ending of ANONYMOUS;CODE, as a new replacement for the current STEINS;GATE universe that we all know of, and that STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT could be useful, or in fact, necessary content bridging us to STEINS;???. Bassman further states that Daru's sprite remaining the same and that Mayuri's outfit being updated to be more revealing in the STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT trailer may be intended character design decisions made to further justify the new story additions that'll be unveiled in STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT.

When I initially speculated about STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT, I wasn't thinking of Bassman's ideas. But once I heard their ideas, I definitely agreed with them. It makes much more sense, because, why would you make significant changes to the story of an old game after so many years? Remember, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT isn't just going to be a typical remastered game with improved visuals, it's going to be more than that - it's going present us with brand new stories we have never read before. Perhaps STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT has also changed some pre-existing story content from STEINS;GATE as well! The addition of new and/or altered content is a core feature which differentiates a reboot from a remaster.

So, what about me? Well, just like Bassman, I have no idea what the new stories could be about. However, I anticipate that old stories covered in drama CDs will be integrated into STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT. Bassman also expects this as well, but this expectation is highly unlikely to be met as STEINS;GATE is meant to only focus on Okabe's perspective whereas the drama CDs feature other perspectives as well. I also expect new character routes for Mister Braun , Nae and Moeka to be explored, presenting us not with intensely romantic, intimate moments, but rather some touching moral lessons and maybe some encouragement to find the STEINS;GATE worldline which would be interesting for Moeka or Mister Braun to do due to their roles in STEINS;GATE. Now, I know what hardliner fans may be thinking, STEINS;GATE: Linear Bounded Phenogram already provided us with many moral lessons throughout its 11 stories disconnected from each other, but perhaps STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT can approach us with some new lessons to learn from as well. Imagine a route with Kuroki or Yukitaka, that would be really interesting and maybe a bit hilarious? LOL! I have one last expectation, which is the least likely to occur, but perhaps the STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT cast could come across another cast from the Science Adventure series. It wouldn't be the first time a crossover has occurred in the Science Adventure series. Imagine all of the lab members meeting all of the main ANONYMOUS;CODE characters for some reason, for instance, wouldn't that be cool? It's only a dream and will likely remain a dream...
