The game has a LARGE learning curve, it will take you many hours of in-game time/outside learning(yt guides and such), to be able to grasp the whole game. on top of that, you don't unlock ranked until 100 hours of playtime(which I believe should be more). DoTA 2 is an amazing competitive moba, but if you strive to be competitive and try to climb ranks just know it requires an immense amount of time invested.

Two of the things dota is known most for are its toxic community and not having a surrender button, as for the toxic community, In my experience, I have encountered not as many as other people claim, but when I do the mute button is always an option. More often than not I encounter friendly players who truly understand that this is a team game(this is my experience in North American servers). Dota 2 is a wonderful game where the game is never over til it's over, I've had MANY games where the enemy is knocking on the door of victory but we pull a game-tilting play in the last seconds and get the triumph by capitalizing on the misplays of our enemies. Dota is an amazing game, that you can never quit, you just take breaks.
