Early Access Review
Ghost ignores me, walks by, and goes after my friends instead during a hunt. They loop it three times around the counter in Tanglewood while I stand here and watch. Confident, since I thought I had made enough noise for it to notice me and left my flashlight on, I went "Haha, this one's the easiest banshees I've ever seen"

Then it immediately turns to me and snaps my neck with just enough time for me to get out a parting "OH ♥♥♥♥, NOT A BANSHEE, NOT A BANSHEE"

10/10, 100/100, great game solo or with friends

Only reason I stopped playing this on Steam was because I got it on Switch. <3

Stardew Valley is a game I enjoy playing when I need to relax, when I've had a bad day, or I'm sick at home. The soundtrack is beautiful, the gameplay is simple yet engaging, the developer is always working to improve it, and I cannot recommend this game enough. I've sunk hours into it just during lunch breaks at work.

This game reminds me of every presidential election. Promises, sweet-talking, and then half-delivery on a few points in an attempt to seem genuine.

Remember those interviews? Remember those demos? I wish they had a release date on when we're getting that game. I wanted to find a crashed freighter on a sand planet, warp into a system and choose sides in an epic space battle, name my ship, and then eventually - way down the road - meet up with buddies and go system hopping together. Except none of that is actually possible. This game is (maybe?) ten different planets, reskinned 18 quintillion times.

  • Science ship, scouting ship, or attacking ship - you decide! Except it doesn't matter. There's no difference in any ship you find except for inventory size.

  • Like puzzles? Good! Figure out which of the items you'd like to keep in your suit and which you'd like to transfer to your ship. Or you can solve one of the whopping FOUR number puzzles in a base camp to reactivate a beacon or something.

  • Up to and including THREE alien races (one per building) with over 300 words to learn in each of their unique languages! If you see Liquidator Amru, tell him, "interloper! death! death! death! death death! joyful warrior!"

  • Use your ♥♥♥♥-gathering gun to gather more ♥♥♥♥ and clutter up your inventory so you can haul it back to a space station to sell it, then repeat enough times to buy a new ship with 2 more inventory slots and do it all over again! The core gameplay loop is so tangible you can almost taste it! If you like every other early-access survival game here on Steam, you're sure to love No Man's Sky!

  • And don't forget about the story! (Because it's very easy to). Once you get your fifth or sixth save corruption from changing your graphics settings, it won't matter anyway! THAT is how psychologically deep and meta No Man's Sky was retooled to be.

  • In what can only be called a genius move, made to make the game completely accessible to everyone, all planetary/solar system interaction physics were removed or nullified. Thanks, Hello Games!

  • A great mystery awaits in the center of the galaxy! What possible cherry could Sean Murray have placed there, awaiting us at the end of our great journey? Oh damn it it just restarts your game and breaks every item you own

  • All for the low, low, price of a AAA game. Who could ever ask for more?
