I've purposefully bombed three playthroughs to experience different bad endings.

My emo heart feeds off bad endings and I've yet to experience even half of the endings in this game.

More ways for my protagonist to mirror my own mistakes and bad decisions throughout my life.

This game crushes my very being in all the best ways.

Linear plot (no choices). 20 hour VN for a moderately slow reader. Full voice acting in Japanese. Dramatic science fiction. Enjoyable storyline, great art. I'd recommend it.

TL;DR - The Long Way Home update in April 2020 addressed many early negative reviews and made this a game worth playing.

A lot of negative reviews focus on the fact that the passengers' stories is the strongest facet of this game, and that the detective mode detracted from that experience. This was absolutely spot on, and when I first played it, I was turned off by the pressure of the cases and the need to monitor my income. This prevented me from exploring interconnected storylines, and I usually just went for customers closest to me.

The addition of freemode in April 2020 dramatically changed how enjoyable this game was. You no longer have to juggle cases and income. You can now enjoy the passenger stories! This renewed my interest in this game. Those that enjoy detective stories will find 3 cases with ~4 hours of gameplay. Those that enjoy story driven, visual novel like experiences will find ~25 hours of amazing passenger experiences. There's so many passengers, and I can't wait to hear them all from the backseat of my cab.

I actually use this novel and Psy High for students to "play" in the classroom. They think it's edgy because they can TRY to drink beer, but they're also interested in reading 'Choose Your Own Adventure' novels because they've have absolutely no exposure to this genre. Thanks for writing it!

Amazing soundtrack. No clue about the quality of the story since I don't speak Australian.

I never know where this story is going to go. I'm just along for the journey.

I will buy any game that features Ellen Page.

I'm up and down about the voice acting, but that may just be because I'm so out of touch with listening to visual novels or anime in English. There are some good touchstones for a really epic journey when the full release comes out. I guess we'll see.

My first real visual novel experience. I don't know if I'd have the patience to grind through Google translated text anymore, but I'm glad I did. This is a real cute game with two completely different routes, and they're both amazing. This slice of life really blew me away.
