This is a fantastic game!

Very original concept, best i can describe it is a 4 man squad based tactical RTS/Xcom hybrid and it really clicks.

Lots of cool skills and equipment to play with and the overall ambience of the game is really good.
Somehow this top down strategy game captures the Alien horror feeling really well.

Controls are great on the steam deck as well and it performs very well.
I'm surprised this game hasn't been more popular, i only found out about it a week or two ago.

The game is pretty fun in co-op.
I played the "original" Lords of the Fallen and it was quite terrible, but they really put in the work to make this remake significantly better.

Combat is fun and responsibe, enemy & boss designs seem fun and the mechanics are pretty cool.
More importantly most weapons seem viable, my main issue with the pre-remake Lords of the Fallen was that only fast dex builds were usable.

Still quite buggy though, we've already (Lords of the) Fallen through the damn map and lost our stuff, but other than that it's quite fun.

Not a fan of the whole lantern gimmick as it encourages you to constantly pull it out OR constantly be in a more monotonous and less colorful looking world to not miss anything, but it's not too bad.

Hot take but this is easily the best battlefield experience you can have nowadays.
(With BF2, BF2142 and Bad company 2 being dead and forgotten).

That being said it's hit or miss.
Either you have an AMAZING cinematic, action packed, team based, vehicle + infantry focused tug of war battle, OR you have hackers that completely throw off the balance and make the game suck.
It's really sad that this game has never had proper anticheat, hackers have been rampantly cheating without repercussions in this game and it shows.

Still, the game often goes on sale for very low prices at which point it's DEFINITELY worth it for those balanced and fun matches.

Finally upgraded my GPU from a 2080 to a 5080 so i was able to try this game.

Fully maxed out + ray tracing i get 120+fps, although it can drop to the 80's in crowded areas.

The game however is absolutely amazing, if you're a fan if Dragons Dogma you will love this.
It feels like Dragons dogma 2.0, with some QoL improvements and even better combat mechanics.
Nothing changed for the worse, only expanded on and improved, just like a sequel should be done.

Graphics are absolutely amazing, almost lifelike.
The game has the best character creator i've ever seen, making it easy and quick to make your ideal character whilst also giving the depth to perfectly sculpt what you want.

AI seems more "alive" now, they still chat your ears off but depending on their personality they will actually have unique approaches and habits, which is nice.

So far i'm blown away by this, i'm remote play streaming it to my Steam Deck and it is an amazing experience.

I tried this during the free weekend and ended up buying it despite being biased by the poor launch.

  • Many QoL changes like auto-reinforcing retreated units and engineers coming out of base to build production buildings rather than needing to manually bring engineers over.
  • The damage your troops do seems more consistent and predictable, in CoH2 it sometimes felt a bit random or "up to luck".
  • Armored combat feels way better, as frontal/side armor seems to make more of a difference so flanking and angling actually does more now.

I can't really speak for the balancing as i'm an RTS noob and i exclusively play PvE matches, so i'm only scratching the surface but it's a really fun game.

It's amazing how well this still holds up today, it feels like you're playing a band of brothers season.

I may be heavily biased as this is my childhood and everything gives me a nostalgia trip, but this game's campaign (and those of other OG titles) is possibly THE best COD experience.

It sucks that the younger generations will never experience this, with black ops 2 being their reference as a childhood title.

It's also amazing how the friendly AI actually acts and fights like fellow soldiers, with you being just another fragile soldier yourself.
AI will actively cover you and take out enemies, push around and have been scripted to constantly be moving like you would expect from a trained soldier.

Not just cannon fodder while you solo the entire war, you ARE the cannon fodder and you're lucky your cannon fodder buddies are capable as well.

P.s. runs and controls great on Steam Deck, just get some launch commanda from protonDB

Early Access Review
This really is the next Lethal Company in originality, style and fun.

Playing this co-op with a friend and it's insanely immersive, hilarious AND scary.
There's also a nice variety of monsters and they're well done.
You can tell the devs put love into this and had fun making it,

Review exclusively for Steam Deck support.

The game has a green "verified" tag which it shouldn't have.
At the default low settings + 85% render resolution (looks pretty bad) the game struggles to even hold 30fps.

It's INCREDIBLY unstable, constantly throttling up and down between 20(!) and 40fps, mostly leaning towards the 30's.

If something happens ingame the surprise factor is already gone because the framerate drops into the 20's and you see it coming.

Does at least give me nostalgia to when getting a phone call made my speakers make buzzing noises before i even received the call.

Again, i'm sure it's a good game, but this negative review is purely for the deceptive Steam Deck verified status.
(For reference, Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn't have the verified tag, yet runs at a stable 35~40fps on a mix of settings, 50~55 on low)

This is an instant cult classic.

It's originality and satisfying melee combat reminds me of Zeno Clash, while the aesthetic is pretty much like stepping into OG Runescape in first person.

Skillbased combat which is both very simple and has surprisingly much depth.

Seriously just pick this up and try it, even if it "seems" like you wouldn't normally like it.
For 6 bucks you can't go wrong at all, i feel like i underpaid for this.
