The hype train for Fall Guys took off as quickly as it came, but those who never left have been generously rewarded. With the support of current franchise owner Epic Games, the humble team at Mediatonic have continued listening to their loyal fandom and have consistently delivered fresh and fun new content, and overall improvements in gameplay.

They have delayed the development of the Switch and Xbox versions to improve on cross platform compatibility, and while it's still not perfect, the sixth season does offer one significant new feature: synchronized progression, thanks to integration with your Epic Games account. If like me you had sunk a lot of time into the PlayStation version, launched as the most downloaded free PS+ title of all time, this will provide incentive to buy the PC version and take all your saved up fame, crowns, kudos and costumes with you between platforms. Unfortunately you're still not able to create proper parties that are cross platform beyond custom lobbies, where progression cannot be achieved, but you'll finally have a good reason to play with your Steam friends.

The PC version could still benefit from more compatibility with older hardware and peripherals, lower resolutions and all that, but at the lowest settings it provides currently, most PCs that lag behind should at least get a playable framerate between 15 and 30 FPS.

If you've enjoyed any previous Fall Guys season before, season 6 brings you more or less the same experience as always. There are fun, new gimmicks on levels, but I'm hoping down the line there will be different kinds of levels beyond races, team challenges and whatever else they got now. They've been teasing a new game mode coming in the near future called "Invisibeans", but what that'll be like remains to be seen.

Overall, Fall Guys remains a bastion of gameplay that is cute, quirky, competitive, and fun for all ages, and still just as much fun to play on your own or with friends. Perhaps even more fun on PC, where griefers are surprisingly less present than on PlayStation. With the inevitable Steam winter sale on its way, you might want to pick this up. If you're a friend of mine and you haven't got it yet, I'd love to play with you!

Adorable 2D platformer with clean cut, colorful, minimalist graphics, and delightfully casual dialogue to match. There are lots of hidden surprises. Fun for all ages. Well designed and engineered, but a little too easy and too short to buy at regular price.

Everybody has played Pac-Man once in their life. If you are a fan of the original Pac-Man games, do NOT buy Pac-Man CE2. You will want to start with Pac-Man CE DX+. That game is still close enough to the original Pac-Man style, adding in new features and tricks that this game, the sequel, builds upon. Even so, no matter which you choose to play first, in this game you will still have to be subjected to a tutorial that is very long and cannot be skipped if you want to proceed to the main game mode. My game hung on a loading/saving screen 3 sections into the tutorial, but force closing the program and restarting it helped. Pac-Man CE DX+ is purely a 2D game, and it runs very well as a result. Pac-Man CE2 could have been just as good as a purely 2D game as well, but they went that unnecessary extra mile and upped the graphics to 3D (for a top down perspective game?) for fancy effects such as camera closeups and angles when chewing on chains of ghosts. I'm not sure if it's just my PC or the way it's programmed, but why is the FPS so much smoother on the fancy camera angles and so low everywhere else in the game? Baffling to say the least. I could have easily given this review a thumbs down, but at least a little bit of effort was put into the game, and most people looking to pick this up will probably have been familiar with Pac-Man CE DX+ anyway. I recommend this game with those cautions in mind.

13 years later, Peggle is still as timeless and addictive as ever. Like the video arcade games of old, Peggle is a game that is so simple to understand and play, but so difficult to master. You may never clear a board 100%, nor might you break any high scores, but Peggle will still keep you trying for them long after you've completed the adventure mode, through the aid of amusing characters and powerups, a funky soundtrack, vibrant visuals and encouraging special effects and sound cues. Due to its age however there are some shortcomings in its presentation and the way it is programmed that may make it unappealing to some modern players. The screen resolution is a fixed 800x600. Fortunately in Peggle Deluxe it scales up in fullscreen mode, but the same cannot be said of its sequel, Peggle Nights. Naturally there is no Steam integration, which means no achievements, no leaderboards, no online multiplayer. Everything is local. Steam or some other third party program may however offer screen sharing remedies to the multiplayer issue. Chances are most likely that if you're looking for a game like Peggle, none of this will matter to you anyway. None of it should matter anyway. Nothing else will matter once you get peggled up in the Tangle web -- er, tangled up in the Peggle web. It is a game so very much of its time, but still so very endearing and addictive.

Early Access Review
An addicting, artistic and gorgeous third person shooter that is just as much fun to play alone as it is with friends. The clean cut, simple, vibrant graphic style makes this game impossible to hate even when it gets rough on you. Items appear at random that will either help or hinder your session. With any luck you and your friends can stash away a great inventory of goodies that will definitely become useful, as the game ramps up the difficulty as you level up, defeat bosses and go through each teleporter. Multiplayer is a bit buggy at times as of this writing, but hopefully the kinks will continue to be worked out.

More than just a "best-of" collection of levels from the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games. Sonic Mania adds a bunch of new features to make the long beaten path irresistibly fun all over again, and there are new levels to explore, too. Improved gameplay mechanics, sounds, music and animation have left me oohing and aahing right the way down, wondering why I ever had to settle for the originals in the first place. The DLC, which allows you to play a new mode where you can switch between Sonic, Tails, Ray, Mighty and Knuckles at a whim, each with their own unique abilities, and a pinball bonus round, and fan-made mods further add to the addictive replay factor already brought about by its classic swift platforming action. If you're a hardcore Sonic fan, or a fan of well polished and artistic 2D games, you will probably buy it at its regular price of 20 dollars. The rest of you will want to wait till it inevitably goes on sale again. As of this writing, the box office success of the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie is being celebrated at Steam (ending today) with most Sonic games including Mania being marked down up to 75 percent off their original prices. You can get Sonic Mania with DLC for under 10 dollars as a result.
