The main plot was okay, but each case felt like an incredible slog, lasting 7–8 hours, and most weren't even interesting. The gameplay is definitely a unique experience, but it gets boring fast. It almost requires a guide just to avoid frustration while playing through it.

Marvelous and boring story at the same time. I was really frustrated with the pacing, but the plot twist and true ending really made up for it.

Excellent world-building (one of the best to me), but the story is not as groundbreaking as people make it out to be, tho.

I like this take: 'XV is a good game made badly, and XVI is a bad game made well.'

The ending was peak as hell, probably the biggest in the series.
Quite enjoying it, but my biggest nitpick is that all the peak moments happened just a few hours before the game ended, while the other 70% of the game just felt like chilling out. (especially van route)

Everything kept getting worse and worse in Chapter 3, but as somewhat of a Trails fan, I'm still finding it enjoyable somehow.

Thumbs down til I get a satisfying patch. ffs.

Halfway through Chapter 2, I still found it extremely boring but I appreciate the amazing world they created. Will give it a try down the road.

A captivating fantasy experience all around.

P.S. The special thanks they give to the player at the end of the credits is pretty awesome.

I REALLY loved the horror/mystery vibe in the first part, but things get worse and worse as they start explaining it, the absurd amount of filler also makes it like a chore to get through, just a huge disappointment.

Or maybe I just came into this game with too much expectation from all the hype claiming it to be better than S;G...
