My gaming habits are fairly random. Sometimes I'll play console games (on PS2, Wii/GC, or X-Box), sometimes I'll play some web games that I've downloaded, and sometimes I'll play one of the "real" computer games. Since I have all 3 of the last gen recent consoles (I wonder what the current generation of consoles is called...) I have lots of freedom in my game selection. It took somewhere around 4 to 6 years to get them all.

I think my taste in games is well balanced. I play a little bit of everything: MMO games (Guild Wars), Platformers (too many), Racing Games (Burnout: Revenge on XBox), 4x games (Master of Orion 2, GalCiv 2), RPGs (Diablo 2, Oblivion), "Other" (Garry's Mod, Portal), and, of course, FPS games (Unreal Tournament, UT2004, Painkiller, etc). The downside of this is that I don't finish games very often. Having three game consoles helps the variety of games / genres that I have to choose from considerably.

I try to keep an eye out for older, "classic" games since I know my computer can run those and I like owning a peice of history. One of the things I love most about the videogaming industry is that it's young. This means that it is still possible to know almost everything about the subject, unlike regular history where the professional expert has to specialise more and more as time goes on.
