Helldivers 2 is a breath of fresh air within the industry, a true example of what a live service game can be. The fact such a small team at Arrowhead was able to build something the giants 10x their size could not is a testament to them.

However they are in real danger of killing the game due to very poor internal testing, countless game breaking bugs and devs that do appear to be clueless in some aspects as to how the game actually plays. Various bugs that have been fixed, reintroduced, 'fixed' again only to be found out within a single game that the bug was not fixed and they in fact broke 5 other things at the same time is getting pretty frustrating. All of my friends excluding one has abandoned the game because of this. I want this game to succeed because it has a fantastic base but AH are doing their best to drive people away as it stands

EDIT: Changing my review because the above seems to still be the case. The latest update 'Freedom of Escalation' has continued to go the wrong way about things. Deciding to nerf and suck the fun out of the game at every opportunity, ignoring the community feedback and sweeping significant issues under the rug in hopes that people forget and deal with them. A shame to see such a good base for a game squandered by inept devs. Oh and the rollback on Sony's ban still has left in excess of 177 countries unable to play the game, so it never really was a rollback and mostly a PR coverup.

Early Access Review
With being a big fan of the previous AC, I had high hopes for ACC. Fortunately, it has not dissapointed. Whilst the initial car and track selection is very limited, it has allowed Kunos to focus heavily on the Huracan and Nurburgring resulting in a solid step up in terms of simulation over the previous game. AC was a good sim but ACC steps it up another notch in every area to create a very strong base to build upon over the early access period.

One area that has impressed me in particular is the wet weather driving. No other sim has nailed it as well as ACC. Lap times take a significant hit and every mistake is punished. There is nothing more scary than aqua planing at 120+mph, constantly fighting the car even on the straights. I cannot wait to see what the dynamic weather system does to longer endurance races.

There are obvious issues e.g glitchy textures especially in the rain, the virtual rear mirror lacks shadows and spray, car setups resetting, lack of wheel settings... But this is to be expected with a brand new engine. In my opinion, the only sim that comes close to ACC is iRacing, which can be vastly more expensive and lacks weather integration.

Its a great game, but it is so let down by the amount of irritating bugs. For example, as soon as i move the engine statistics off the screen, i cant get them back unless i restart as the buton disappears, losing the design as the save function causes the game to crash. Also, sometimes the scenarios dont show your requirements, so you cant complete the build unless you can remember them.

I really do enjoy it, but the bugs make it nigh on unplayable for me. I know its early access but they just ruin the game for me

Enjoyable and competitive game however, the community is toxic and there are a few irritating features, such as 7 day bans in trading for almost everything.
