It was never that pleasant to "go medieval".
It is already a fun experience - and there is potential for waaaay more, where that came from.

If you like Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld, Oxygen not included and alike, you will most likely enjoy this game as much as I do.


PS:
It's a small studio working hard on this game - so you will need some patience, they are working steadily though. Roadmap and communication with community is promising, that this game will not be abandoned.

This game could be your jam if you are capable of setting yourself some goals. It is a big Sandbox full of possibilities. You can become almost everything you ever would like to be in a RPG.

10/10 would run Naruto-style and sell Hashish in United Cities-Cities again.

Don't be afraid by the looks of it. The graphic is maybe not what you expect in 2019 (or 2020 *edit or 2023 *another edit), but the gameplay is (still *edit) top-notch, it really benefits from the good gameplay instead of neat graphics.
If you are into difficult, both punishing and rewarding games, you like survival, base-building and crafting and also like to explore, sneak, fight and run for your life, this game is made for you!

The Developers are active and the game is getting more and more content, making it even better. It is not a giant team, so some patience is mandatory, but it is a labour of love as far as i can see and i'm convinced it will not just get finished but also polished and prettier.

Buy it.

This game was really fun, but sadly it gets repetetive after some time. If you like games like (for example) fallout shelter, this could be something for you. it feels a bit to casual to play it in the long run. most game mechanics are simple and easy to understand.
if you pick it up when it is on discount, you can't do much wrong and not looking for a super complexe game.

if you are into achievement-hunting this title isn't to hard to get some.

Even the Techno Viking is pleased.

Klare Empfehlung für alle Spieler die Aufbauspiele mögen und / oder auch beim Entspannen nachdenken wollen. Nach einer anfänglich steilen Lernkurve entwickelt sich sehr schnell das Suchtpotenzial dieses Spiels.
Dabei bleibt das "lernen" und bedienen stets fair, sehr intuitiv und spannend.
Man merkt sehr schnell das eine Menge Herzblut des (einzigen!) Entwicklers in diesem Programm steckt.

Da können sich auch große Entwickler noch ein Beispiel nehmen. Im Gegensatz zu großen Produktionen der letzten Jahre, habe ich nicht das Gefühl das "Banished" an irgendeiner Stelle unfertig ist. Das Spiel läuft stabil, die Inhalte funktionieren und man ist langfristig motiviert verschiedene Wege auszuprobieren eine prosperierende Siedlung zu errichten.

Pro:

+ läuft stabil & ist fertig entwickelt
+ hübsche Grafik (wenn man bedenkt das alles aus einer Hand kommt umso mehr)
+ komplex ohne zu überfordern
+ man verliert sich nicht im Mikromanagement, mit wenigen Klicks (Arbeitereinteilung bspw.) kann man die Weichen stellen
+ Langzeitmotivation
+ Abwechslung durch Zufallskartengenerator mit vielen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten

Kontra:

- ab ~1000 Einwohnern hätte ich mir mehr Statistiken gewünscht um Zustand der Siedlung zu analysieren und Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten zu entdecken, die Statistiken des Rathauses reichen (mir) irgendwann nicht mehr aus ab einer gewissen Ausdehnung über die Karten



Fazit: Ein sehr schönes Spiel das ich nur empfehlen kann. Ich habe keinen einzigen Cent bereut!

Und jetzt viel Spass beim siedeln! Der Winter kommt... ;-)
