Just go play Ghost of Tsushima if you don't want to fight against enemies that are tanky and don't even flinch when you hit them with a dozen blows of a katana.

I don't know what's up with this change in enemy behavior that's been there since Origins. In every AC before, whenever you hit at an enemy, they stumble, they're shoved, and otherwise reacting in a proper way to receiving pain. Nowadays it happens *occasionally* I guess? If you want to make an argument about armor then I have these same experiences with bandits who just wear a whole damn rag.

I almost said "at least an assassination could drop enemies like they're supposed to"... But I've seen enough enemies getting back up a hidden blade attack to count on five hands.

The EA launcher is really hurting my ability to play this game. It becomes a gamble on whether or not it wants to work properly, with most of the time leaning between "no" and "I have to run the repair tool on the EA launcher again don't I?"

Also, the optimization is crummy. I still get frame drops on a 4070ti, i7-14700k, and 48gb of RAM on *medium* graphics preset.

They should just sell campaigns separately because they're the only good part of these games, but not worth the full price tag.

Also, the performance gets worse and worse with every patch. My PC is pretty good but this game is getting closer and closer to inoperable.

You cannot play a public lobby with strangers without getting cyberattacked.

The real life human being who was on friendly terms with Kero the Wolf is still in this game.

To get the Minibak, you need to level the Vaznek-9K to level 14.
To get the Vaznek-9K, you need to level the Kastov-74u to level 15.
To get the Kastov-74u, you need to level the Kastov 545 to level 13.
To get the Kastov 545, you need to level the Kastov 762 to level 10.

There are a few other guns locked behind more than one like this. Horrible progression system.

This game will launch and prove that it needed 6 more months in the oven, just like Vanguard did.

It's frustrating, but finally finishing the final boss gave me a real sense of satisfaction.

I previously left a negative review back when I tried playing this on my old GTX 980, which wasn't even able to handle the game that well on low settings. That card burnt out and forced me to buy something more up to date (RTX 2080), so I've decided to revisit this game properly.

I'm really glad I splurged on parts to run this game. It has hiccups here and there, sure, but it's an overall beautiful experience. At first I was a bit uninvested with the story, but it later dug itself deep into me.

Overall good game, but hardware-wise, it has a high bar of entry, so just keep that in mind if you're thinking about purchasing it. And I also hear Rockstar Social Club stuff is a heck to deal with.

Edit: Gave RDO a few hours and I can't get into it. Too many functions are locked behind freenium currency (I spent $60 for this game??) and I can't even fish because it's locked behind a level requirement.

I can't believe I'm two years late to this. I love this game so damn much.
