On a Postive Gaming Note, Today's Indie Recommendations go to TREPANG 2

This is F.E.A.R + DOOM Eternal to the Max. A Beautiful Ultra Violent Indie FPS with the influence of its predecessors on it's sleeves!

Developed by Trepang Studios in Canada and Published by Team17, Trepang has some just Incredibly Smooth Action and Slow Motion which makes it an absolute blast to play with so far alongside a really interesting almost SCP and FEAR esc Story that's certainly got me hooked!

Early Access Review
A Flawed Barrel of Laughs!

The Break-In, the indie answer to performing the ultimate heists if the heisters weren't the payday gang but instead were the 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥' Stooges and their wannabe companion. Developed by Oliver Josh as a Solo Dev, The Break In is a 4 Player Cooperative Stealth Action Game about becoming increasingly dangerous robbers!

The Game has unique and charming artstyle with a fun blend of minimal and cartoony stylisation to both keep the game lookin good and running smooth given it's available for both Non-VR and VR! The Physics are Wacky and the Gameplay extremely fun with lots of variety to the missions, different levels and randomisation's to keep each re-run feeling completely unique to the last!

The Break-In is best when played with a Full 4 Player Team and is clearly most optimised for Virtual Reality however unlike prior games of similar cross-platform ilks, The Break-In transfers it's unique controls well to PC with an interesting and different climbing system that while complex at first, provides the player with a VR level of Control over their movement Horizontally and Vertically, making it easy to find the best way into your chosen place of pinchin'.

However, what lies alongside a great and charming game is a number of frustrating bugs that have on multiple occassions caused total mission failures. The Game does NOT feature any Game Breaking Bugs however, a great sign of polish given it's Solo Developer Team though the game isn't without it's flaws.

Regularly myself and friends were detected at random, found ourselves with police spawning infront or behind us and tasing us instantly or on one occassion, being handed an objective that was impossible to complete, rendering us unable to complete the assigned goal. However Bugs are being REGULARLY Patched with promising regular updates from the Dev over the last 3 days since launch, each with new and more fixes than the last with exploits and bugs being fixed left and right, good on you Oliver, love to see it!

Overall, in the current state, The Break-In is again a Charming and Comical Game for you and your friends to enjoy despite it's flaws. The Game features plenty of content for the price with more planned for the future with the developer regularly posting and interacting with the community on social media. Despite the bugs, if you can look past it's flaws, The Break-In is an easy pickup and a great time for you and your friends alike to practice stealing all your favourite shiny stuff.

And for legal reasons, That's a Joke.

An Absolute Joke of a Port

Well looks like Sony is at it again with a REALLY Bad Attempt to Port one of their best games to the PC.
Meet The Lag of Us Part 1, a 2023 Remake of a PS3 Game that still can't compile shaders after 40 minutes, barely reaching 20%.

The game regularly interrupts gameplay with abrupt loading screens saying "Please Wait" despite being installed on an SSD on a Higher Spec Rig. This port has genuinely released in a Joke of a State and to be honest, it comes across as a really quick cash grab to cash in on the Popularity of the Show instead of a Heart-Filled Honest Port of one of Playstation's Best Titles.

I absolutely DO NOT Recommend this Game, If it ever gets patched, I hope it gets fixed.
Save your Money, Go Play Spiderman or God of War if you want GOOD PC Playstation Games...

Crash For the Emperor
This Review is based on the Pre-Order Beta as of November 22nd

To preface this review, I absolutely LOVED the Darktide Closed Beta back in October and was dying to get my hands on this game. I had heard from friends about the pre-order beta and decided to jump in. Oh sweet god what happened.

At this moment on my Rig (Listed Below) The game is crashing constantly across basically every cutscene and is performing badly across the board. We're talking going from the 60s in the beta to the low 30s in the full game with higher specs since. The Gameplay is Fantastic and the Visuals Great but as of this moment, the game is hit and miss with the performance and for myself and others, completely nonfunctional.

Will most likely re-review if the full game later down the line fixes the crashing and performance but for now, I'd avoid.

An Interesting Sequel Held Back by Floaty Controls and Buggy Combat

Dying Light 2 Takes Place 15 Years after the Events of the Original Dying Light Campaign playing as Aidan, a Pilgram on the hunt for the man who took his Sister from him back when they were both young. What should be a really interesting continuation of the story of Dying Light, made popular by it's excellent Parkour Mechanics and Punchy Combat is held back unfortunately by the new takes on these mechanics that made the series popular in the first place.

While the Setting is Gorgeous and the Characters Interesting for the most part. The Game is held back by feeling like you're bouncing on Moon Shoes on the Surface of the Moon. Floaty Jumping Controls and with many actions now bound to the same controls, the parkour feels much slower and floaty compared to the punch and action of the original. Alongside the movement, Combat felt floaty and lacked polish to me. I was regularly flying past enemies when swinging my weapons and attempting to get any lengthy combo going in the newly decided cramped spaces is a nightmare, 3 swings and I have no stamina, really?

I'd wait for some patches for the Combat and Movement or for a more significant discount. In the meantime, Go Play Dying Light 1 with some friends, it's amazing.

One of the Greatest Remakes of my favourite FPS of ALL TIME

Black Mesa, for those who are new to the series, is a Remake of The 1998 Game of the Year "Half-Life 1". Set in New Mexico, you take on the role of Dr Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist working in the Anonymous Materials Sector of the Black Mesa Research Facility. After a Science Experiment gone wrong goes A-Wall, resulting in a Global Catastrophe, Gordon is tasked with making it out alive and ending the invasion from the planet XEN.

What began as a Modification for HL2 under the name Black Mesa Source has turned out to be an incredible example of the Community's Passion towards this game. Black Mesa is a Fantastic Remake, harnessing what made the original Half Life Fantastic and amplifying and adjusting to boost it right into the modern day. With a Gorgeous take on the Source Engine, pushing the engine to its limits looking damn amazing at moments, the game is a spectacle to behold given it's running on an engine that has its origins from 2004.

Black Mesa is a Rock-Solid remake and an amazing way to play the original Half-Life both again and for the first time. If you're looking to experience the modern interpretation of the Genre Defining Classic, You've Found it!
