A Hat in Time was an experience I cannot re-experience and that makes me sad. Back in like 2017-2018, close to when it released I first played this game as a dumb 12 year old unaware of the bliss of the world but I could already tell this game was going to be exceptional. I don't think I owned it on steam back then, but growing up I bought it with some birthday money and the game blew me away. The music felt at home, warm and cozy, the gameplay just FELT right as a platformer to me, none ever really compared, the character designs are so unique and lovely, Hat Kid, the Snatcher, the Conductor, those three have influenced my taste in character and character designs for a while now and I appreciate it so much. No matter how long this game's been out for, it'll always remain a masterpiece and never just a product of it's time.
