Good game, but definitely a love/hate relationship. Have owned it on PS3 since day one, then PS4 and then PC. Will probably have it on PS5 as well. Easily have 4000+ hrs on the game across all platforms. Online is fun with friends but a bit grindy, especially for new players. Still gets updates and the cheaters are finally mostly gone now.

Single player is polarizing because all support went to GTAO and that soured a lot of people, albeit modding single player is great. Even if T2 constantly makes it annoying to do so.

If you still don't own it, buy it. But wait for a sale.

Finally returned to this game after uninstalling it a few months after the initial launch in 2020. Was enjoyable back then but it was so damn buggy and my pc really struggled with it even when no bugs were occurring, but was near unplayable when it decided to spas out. I just couldn't put up with it and dropped it. Loved the story and the immersive world but it was just too damn taxing. Just such a bad release and the game got a lot of hate for it. Despite enjoying whats bits I could manage to play it just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Now its been almost 3 years and after hearing so much about the patches and fixes I gave it another try and reinstalled it. Glad I did, picked up right where I left off and after only an hour in I was fully sucked back into the game. While my pc is still just a touch above the "minimum" specs for the game, it does run a lot smoother now and I can finally enjoy it. Game is definitely a labor of love and CDPR deserves the praise for fixing it. I'm getting back into this just after the 2.1 update and can now recommend it, although you might need to check those pc specs to run "optimally", its still a very performance intense game especially if you want to have the full graphics experience.

Great soundtrack and lazy gameplay. Great time sink for when you can't sleep and just want to chill. Trying to get the recipes right is harder than you'd think.

Best way I've spent a dollar on steam so far. This game is pretty addicting much like the arcade games of old. Highly recommend it you want a good and simple time sink. Much better then buying a mobile game full of microtransactions.

So sad what happened to this game. Had so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ potential and was a lot of fun especially with friends but had horrible optimization and a lot of bugs. This was okay back then as the game was still in "Early-Access". But now as time has passed these issues have barely been addressed yet they insist on pushing cosmetics instead. Now I'm not one of those virtue signaling lames that hates microtransactions or cosmetics, I actually partake in them a lot. But this game has made so much money and had insane amounts of free advertising and not seeing it being put into improving the game makes me really upset. They'd rather spend their time suing the competition LOL.

At this point I feel I got my $30 usd out of it and the game can go die in a ditch (that it dug itself into) for all I care. If for some reason you still don't own this game, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT. Had I decided to review it back in 2017 I'd likely be singing it's praises but now I know better. Just makes a bit sad because this was a really fun game for good long time for me and it had so much potential and did/does have some legit pros (gunplay is really damn good, queue times are pretty good, graphics are beautiful and optimization has slightly improved (just not as much as it needs to) and the new Sanhok map is GG). Unfortunately they don't outweight the cons (bad tick rate, cheaters/abusers (*cough* China), misplaced developer priorities, ect).

If you already own it, then one can hope Bluehole gets their ♥♥♥♥ together and improve the game. I have no issues returning to this game if they legitemately fixed it. But if you don't already own it, don't bother (at least at the time this review is written).

This was my first Hitman game and ever since I've been hooked on the franchise. Silent Assassin is still my favorite of them all. Glad to have on pc once again. Replaying now compared to back in 2003 the story and gameplay still hold up well, graphics are obviously dated though.

Edit 07-15-2018:

So this game completely stopped launching for me around the start of May. Just get black screen and crashes to desktop. Tried verifying game files, deleteing and reinstalling, changing the drive it's saved on, launching from ubisoft launcher instead of steam (still crashes), ect. It's literally unplayable now. Too bas as I was really enjoying the game now too.

Original Review:
Originally played it on ps4 in the early days when it was undeniably bad. Picked it up again recently on Steam and it has improverd a lot. Glad I gave it another chance. PvP in the Dark Zone is no longer forced onto you in order to have good gear and enemy AI appears to have been reworked as well.

You can now play it strictly as a PvE only game and still have an enjoyable experience. Still need to finish the main story before I can try the DLC expansions but I hear they are great as well.

I honestly still wouldn't pay full price for it but if it is on sale I recommend it.
