The animations are super smooth and the pixel art is amazing. The story isn't best selling, but enjoyable for what it is. The game overall is a ton of platforming and metroidvania fun. However the issues are way too egregious for me to recommend it.

1) The ending. The ending is awful and lame and very lazy. I also extremely dislike the implications of what it means for either a DLC follow up for the story or a sequel.

2) Not enough bosses. Bosses are extremely far and few between. I wish there were significantly more. I also wish they were harder. All the content is pretty easy after the first stint of the early game. You can scale stats way higher than you should be able to. It's a fun power fantasy but makes the game lose its charm when bosses are so easy to steam roll.

3) There aren't enough 'challenges'. Such as survival rooms and being stuck fighting a ton of enemies in one room for extended periods of time.

I love the characters and the world that they made. But the execution was poorly done and not nearly challenging enough for the tools that they give us. I understand it's difficult to balance combat in video games, but at least let us have a hard or equivalent difficulty option. Challenge is what makes these games fun. And this game is lacking that and a good enough story to compensate for the lack of challenge.

8/10 idea, 3/10 execution, 9/10 art direction/animations

I adore this game.

If you like 2D action/platforming hack-and-slash games, you'll love this game.

The controls are exceptional; snappy and responsive. The combat and flow of the game is quick and remarkably fluid and so fast.

Every character is so much fun to play and I find myself engaging with all of them. They are all distinct but very well executed that even though some characters aren't my style, they still are very fun.

The roguelite element is very well implemented; the abilities and possible builds are very fun. All though I wish they would tune-down the amount of meta-progression currency you get. Right now it's still too generous. That is my largest complaint held against this game.

OG Paragon. Not the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ what the devs made it once Epic bought it out.

It deserves to be more popular than Smite, Dota, and League. It's so enjoyable.

I'm excited to see the finished product.

It's fun.

Best game of the Decade.

Easily.

Many different ways to control the difficulty of the game, massive open world to explore and shift attention to if you don't want to slam your head against something for hours on end.

But you'll slam your head against that wall anyway cause it's fun.

12/10. Can't wait for Elden Ring 2 (Bloodborn 2. Whichever comes first.)

In 33 hours...

I finally left tutorial island.

Anyone with less game time is literally critiquing the tutorial of the game.

Love the game. It's almost perfect, but is has one blaring flaw that makes the fun - indepth combat, awesome armor designs, really beautiful worlds, cool stories.

Sure, the unskippable cutscenes are not the best design choice.

But the only reason this game is not recommended, the only negative that makes up for all the amazingness of this game so much that it makes it a negative game.

The... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... handler. The most poorly written, poorly executed, and most annoying character ever. And whoever says otherwise is a simp.

If you enjoyed L4D2.
If you like meaty combat and evisceration.
If you think rats are disgusting and need to die.
If you like a sense of progression. Getting stronger as you progress, and getting cool new weapons and trinkets.
If you like a challenge.
If you like lore, story and characters that are relatable.

This game may be for you. I love it. I loved L4D2 a lot back in the day, and I wish with all my heart that Valve would release a L4D2. Well, Valve didn't do it, Fatshark did. And it's so much better than L4D2. Melee is amazing, range is fun and missing a shot hurts as ammo isn't around every corner.

It's amazing how quickly you run out of ammo when you only have 49 shots. There's a lot more than 49 rats, I assure you.

There's also humans (well, Chaos, but same difference) so if you ever don't want to slay rats, you'll probbaly kill some buff bois later on.

Just try it out. But be warned, you'll be playing so long the first time you start it up you'll run out of your refund period.

This game is great.

I won't hash out all the complaints that other people have posted in rage, frustration, or otherwise discontement with the game.

Ubisoft *finally* hit the nail on the head with this one.

Still better Netcode (You know, those server issues?) than the Dark Souls games. And look at how postive those reviews are.
