This game is okay... That's putting it loosely. I don't want to say this is a horrible game or experience, but it's very generic. It feels like the world was made for a Link, Kratos, or someone else, and they just threw Sonic in another game. While I see some good stuff here, it does not make up for everything else. The normal levels in this game seem to be rehashed versions from older games. How often will we see the same 3 zones in Sonic games?
While I will keep playing it to get my $20 worth (purchased on sale), I heavily debated refunding it. I want to give it a real shot, but I cannot recommend this game to anyone based on what I have seen in the first few hours.

This game looks like crap. Straight doo doo. It looks like PS3 character models are thrown into a world that doesn't match the characters.

2 hours isn't enough time to leave this review. I will continue playing I guess, and will update later if I feel it needs it. I was a big Sonic fan until 2006... After playing Sonic '06, I didn't have much fun with many Sonic games. Generations were decent, and Mania was excellent; otherwise, everything is just kind of meh.

The game crashed a few times; it had a couple of quick but nothing too frustrating; the game is beautiful and simplistic.

It's basically if Edmund McMillen figured out how to make the bouncing dvd screensaver into a game. Instead of satisfying that craving, we all have to get it into the corner. He turned it into another one of his childhood-inspired nightmare-fueled souls like hell. I have a feeling the devs grew up with not so great parents... It's okay tho, I love them. The pile of snapped-in-half controllers next to me, not as much. 10/10 It's really hits that sadism itch.

This is a damn near perfect budget game. Took me around 10 hours to 100% probably less, since I tend to AFK a lot while "working." If you like The Legend of Zelda on the NES, you’re going to feel right at home here. In fact, Shotgun Legend feels like what would happen if Link stopped messing around with swords and just decided to bring a shotgun to Hyrule. Let’s be real, Ganon wouldn’t have lasted five minutes.

The game somehow feels more polished in some ways than Zelda 1 did, refining its best elements and making exploration and combat feel more rewarding. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel or the shotgun but it delivers a highly enjoyable experience. The difficulty is challenging but never unfair, striking that "It’s dangerous to go alone, but not too dangerous" sweet spot.

There are 10 dungeons in total, and they feel more well-rounded and thoughtfully designed than some of Zelda’s more cryptic layouts. Shotgun Legend won’t change your life, but for a budget game, it’s an absolute steal. Or should I say, it's a legendary deal?
