This is a simple review.
You got a team? You like coop? You like challenges?
Yes? Yes? Yes?
This is a game for you, yes.

This is going to be a very short review, because there's not much to say really.
Do you like shooting things? Do you have a party of four?
If yes - this is a game for you and your party.

Fates of Ort is a very real RPG game. I must say I didn't feel this good playing an RPG game in a long time.

Don't get this wrong, this game is no Witcher, and no Cyberpunk, it's also no Kingdom Come Deliverance.
But it has an interesting story to tell, set in a unique universe. With nice sidequests, and a lot of decisions that might or might not matter in the end (I won't spoil!).
The combat system is also interesting (albeit not without its issues), which makes up for a time well spent.

In my opinion this game, set of games in reality, is a great way to envision how some games might've looked. It of course has the Zachtronics twist to it.
Very much recommended to anyone who likes puzzle games, but also old games from the 90's (and solitaires, of course there are solitaires in here).

The game is too short to be worth more than 2€.
It's a set of fights that are very simple, there's no complexity that was present in the past games like Heroes of Might and Magic 1 & 2. The game itself is a little jank, especially when playing on a smaller screen (SteamDeck) - because texts aren't formatted properly.

Not sure how I got it, probably from some bundle ;) - but definitely don't recommend getting it for yourself or anyone else, you'll get better mileage from something like Songs of Conquest or Heroes of Might and Magic.

I believe that this game has the potential to become the best bullet heaven there is :)

This game is like taking the old Heroes of Might and Magic, making it more lightweight and making the battles more chaotic and fun.
It's great for a few short rounds once in a while! It also has this addictive element to it that I remember HoMaM2 used to have.

A game like Dwarf Fortress is a real labour of love, you can tell it's something that was made over an enourmous stretch of time.
With this premium Steam version (yes, the old one is still free and getting updates), we get spectacular improvements over the original - like mouse support.
That might sound riddiculous, but with the complexity of the original came some additional hurdles, like controls - that's mostly solved now. Since this review is being written on the day of the release - the game is in a good state, but should get better in upcoming months.

Dwarf Fortress is a simulation of a world, along with its history, and somewhere in that world you can create your own fortress, using your own Dwarves, Dwarfs, Dorfs... You know, the bearded guys.
That simulation in its roots serves one purpose - to create a world which one could explore as an RPG. That mode is there in the old game, but still being worked on for the premium version at the moment of writing.
Still, the level of complexity here is mind-boggling, but I'm not going to describe any of my crazy Fortress-stories, simply look for Kruggsmash on youtube and listen to his stories for a demonstration of what's possible here.

The main requirements to have fun in DF are - patience, imagination and time.
If you start playing you'll find the time. Life finds a way - be wary of that!

An interesting title, everyone probably heard about it already.
It isn't the first in it's genre, but it's what popularized it.
The genre being "bullet heaven" (the name isn't set in stone yet as far as I'm aware though, but promoting it here is probably a good idea ;) ). This genre is a 2022 thing, everyone's making these games, and they're AWESOME.
Vampire Survivors delivers really fast-paced gameplay, but only after a few slower levels that introduce you to the core mechanisms of the game.

The gameplay is really addictive - it takes "just another round" to an entirely new level, and it's good.

There's meta progression in the game, multiple characters, mixing weapons... Considering the prices you can probably try it yourself without any issue - I very much recommend doing exactly that. Try it out!

TL;DR - Between Hero's Call and the first versions of Eador: The Broken World - I think this is my favourite game of this kind, even in the alpha.
Now I can't wait for the full release of the game. :)

The game itself is insanely immersive, the world is interesting, the factions are unique - it doesn't feel like a heroes knock-off (like Hero's Call - outside of their battles), but like a unique game, that stands on its own.

In the alpha I've mostly played as Loth and Rana factions, and also played through first two missions of Arleon campaign.

Loth are a unique spin on the undead faction, at the time of playing - less about raising enemies and more about restoring the empire, the game description doesn't lie about it.

Rana are the first lizardfolk faction in games like this that I actually like. Honestly right now I consider them more as frog-people than lizard-people. Good faction to play on a Wednesday, my dudes! ;)

The campaigns have songs in between missions, I was really surprised when I first heard it, they really sound great.

The artwork... Well - see the materials for yourself, if you think it looks amazing - it really does! The art pops from the screen very nicely, the pixelart is insanely detailed and really well animated, so if you are into good pixelart - you simply need to check this game out.

The developers are really responsive, basically a part of the community, simply join the discord and you can participate in everything. :)
