Nier: Automata is a game that surprised me. Despite my usual lack of interest in non-turn based JRPGs, this one captivated me. The music, even during flight combat, stood out. I don't like playing Galaga esc games but it wasn't overdone here and it was tasteful. The world-building impressed me, especially considering it was made in 2017.

Now, let’s talk about 2B. The character dynamics between her and 9S are awesome. Also you know, I kinda simp for her. I love how her character develops and how she warms up to 9S and good machines over time, similar to 2A. Although 2A was annoying to play after 2B, she grows on you, and her character development is incredible. Also her quirky remarks are endearing. As for 9S, he’s an awesome character, and what happens later is super realistic—even if it hurts. I love his character a lot.

While there were some regions I didn’t like as much, the music and the sheer amount of things to do made Nier: Automata worthwhile. Quick travel unlocking faster would have been nice, but overall, I haven’t felt this emotional about a game in a long time. Stick around; there’s more than just empathy coming soon!
