I've played this game since 2016 and I loved it from the first day I started it. I was enjoying the different challenges you had if it was mechanics or just climbing in your rank. Or just playing with your friends.

The player base was toxic since the beginning but in my opinion it has gotten worse over the years. You can barely play one game without anyone telling you to kill yourself or them telling you that they're going to sleep with your mother. Don't get me wrong a little sh**talk isn't a dealbreaker, but the sheer amount of it in this stage of the game is bulls***.

Epic Games bought Psyonix in 2019 and for the first few years I didn't really notice any changes. At first I thought Epic Games would bring some new features to the game and make it better since they're a bigger company but I guess I was wrong.

They completely removed some game modes and the biggest thing of all was player trading in my opinion. I always loved the idea that me and my friends could just trade some decals or wheels. Turns out they removed player trading so that you have to pay real money for a decal you like. Even after numerous protests of the existing playerbase they didn't make any statement about the removal and didn't even consider communicating with their players.

In conclusion, the game is still fun. It hasn't really changed gamewise but the community is the most toxic I have ever experienced. The fact that they removed trading was the dealbreaker for me.
I still play it sometimes but it can never achieve the state it once had.
