Yes, it has somewhat of a learning curve. If you like rogue-like games you will most likely like this. It has a sort of a Catholic background but not too deep. Some of the characters are from the Bible.

I like Civ V but, the vanilla game isnt that exciting. When you get like "Brave New World" or "Gods and Kings" it gets better. I bought the full version in the summer of 2014. Thats where I played it more often. So if you're going to get it think about getting some DLC to go with it
