Really fun game with a fantastic sense of speed, interesting story and characters, strong level design with plenty of optional paths and collectables to find, giving great replayability, tight controls that are similar to the adventure era of Sonic games, but much more polished and with a lot of momentum behind the movement. The combat is pretty fun too, if not a bit spammy and sometimes encounters tend to drag on for a while.

My only issues were the aforementioned combat, dashing or other similar abilities would mess up on sections where you're running sideways or up loops, collectibles are SO out of the way and I feel like they could've been integrated into the level better, with some exceptions though, and the last level I feel dragged the experience down at the end. I get what they were doing with a gauntlet level, but having all those cutscenes in between and multiple bosses made it really exhausting by the end, I feel they should've separated some of the encounters to another level.

A nice little bonus was that you unlock the previous game's stages after you beat the main story and they were really fun too, more linear in their design but I feel a lot of them had stronger themes and flow to some of the new stages.

Overall this game is awesome though, I don't have much desire to get all the medals that can be collected through the stages, but I'll definitely replay them a lot cos they're just so much fun to run through.

Sonic Team really should do something similar to this game, they could learn a lot, and that's saying something that an incredibly small team (mainly just the one guy) can make something that I could see being influential to a big development studio.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is basically a new campaign featuring Shadow, and the Generations game from 2011.

The Shadow half of the game was fantastic! My only real complaint being how it's kind of short, but there's still stuff to do after you beat the main story anyway.

Some of the best 3D level design they've done honestly, all of it feeling unique and fresh. With the act 2 stages mostly being 2D side-scrollers, but they feel fast, flowing and have alternate paths like the 3D levels, though they're not quite as strong.

There's so much depth to the levels, with a fair amount of alternate routes, some great quick platforming sections, lots of flashy speedy bits that look great and overall give a great sense of progression as you go through the stage, with plenty of surprises and incorporating Shadow's new moves very well.

The stages are just so huge, the little scripted moments look incredible, with great animation on both the characters and the environment, Shadow is so expressive in these little sequences I love it!!

The bosses are also pretty great, eventually implementing all of Shadow's new moves to make a really great feeling final encounter. But all the bosses have really strong designs and mechanics.

The story is pretty good, it had enough going on to keep me engaged, but didn't feel overbearing or like it interrupted the game. It was also well integrated into the levels themselves, featuring the characters talking to one another during scripted segments. The story had some lovely and genuinely emotional moments, the callbacks didn't feel forced or anything and they made a new interesting story with the returning characters and themes. They also tie the story into the Sonic campaign a little.

The hub world you traverse to get to the main stages is really extensive and I was surprised at how much there is to play around in. I was expecting it to be the same as Sonic Generations' hub, but was pleasantly surprised at how detailed and fun it is to explore. it utilises Shadow's new Doom powers, which I can't honestly be bothered to go into, but they all fit into a tight moveset that feels really great and flows very well with the rest of the gameplay. The last one you get feels really awesome, essentially like a new super form, it makes revisiting previous stages a blast, soaring through them at high speeds and being able to traverse the levels in different ways.

There's collectable music, art and information like character backstory that you can get through the main levels and in the hub world that are all great to listen to, look at and read.

Anyway I don't have much to say about the Sonic side of the game cos it's basically the same as what it was back in 2011, a really solid experience people have talked a lot about before.
There's a few changes like taking away the lives system from the original, both modern and classic Sonic have the drop dash from Sonic Mania, although I'd say not particularly well implemented, and they changed the control scheme to fit Frontiers (RT to boost instead of X, having X be an alternate button for homing attacks).
Though the big change to the Sonic Generations half is there are some story re-writes, unfortunately these re-writes are mostly for the worse. Generations' story was never really a big focus and didn't have anything special to begin with, but they tried to update it and just kind of made it awkward.

One problem is that they didn't re-animate most of the scenes to fit the new dialogue, so it leads to some awkward feeling delivery or parts where the characters look like they just finished speaking even though they aren't anymore with the new lines.
The new dialogue isn't particularly great either and has less charm than the original game did. I understand their intent behind some of it, but I think it falls rather flat. There's maybe 1 or 2 improvements, but mostly it's just worse or feels needless.
I do however really like that they added some responses to when you save one of the characters, it always felt weird that modern Sonic would just be completely silent after being thanked by whoever was freed, but that's changed now, and they have some cute lines.

I was also kind of disappointed that the Sonic half didn't receive the same technical care that the Shadow campaign did. The Sonic half launches as a separate program after you choose it in the main menu, and it's essentially just the same as it was before.
The game is annoyingly limited to 60 fps (causing A LOT of annoying dropped inputs) where the Shadow half goes up to 120. There's little to no noticeable graphical improvements over the original, but I guess it wasn't necessary to do that since the original still looks good to this day. I just would've liked more care put into the Sonic side of the game, it's a shame it feels so disconnected from the Shadow part.

Anyway this is definitely worth picking up, really great game especially the Shadow campaign. If you're for some reason curious about more of my thoughts on the Sonic Generations half of the game, I have a review of that on my Steam page.

Best open world game I've played, for Fromsoft to have done such an amazing job on their first attempt is a testament to how great they are as a video game development studio. Amazing world to explore, great characters and stories (though very convoluted to finish the quests), tight controls, lots of cool weapons and builds to try out. It's a very very good game.

Up there with Dark Souls in terms of its lore and atmosphere, though unfortunately plagued with a lot of unfairness in its gameplay, as I felt they were trying to just 1-up themselves in difficulty without much thought of how fun or fair it would be. Very much felt like luck played a large factor in whether I beat certain bosses. Some fights are just really bad and unfun, it's a shame that the bosses, which have been some of the strongest things about From's games, are at their weakest here.
Most damning is the final boss, its first phase is very cool and fun to learn, but the second phase is the worst boss that Fromsoft has ever done and feels completely unnecessary.

It's very good :3

Actually the most obnoxious game I've ever played, unbelievably annoying and never shuts the ♥♥♥♥ up. The gameplay is alright but not much of a step up from 2. Borderlands 2 had its own horrible writing problems with its irritating characters and tiny tina being the worst pedo bate, annoying character I've ever witnessed, but nothing comes close to how infuriating it is to play this game with constant EPIC, BADASS, meme ♥♥♥♥ being thrown at you. Couldn't get through that much of the game I think I got maybe half way through? This was with friends as well so it should've been more fun. It's not fun, average to fun gunplay depending on what you pick up with some fun abilities, but it's THE most irritating game I've ever played.

I think it's definitely the best MOBA there is, nothing has topped how endlessly it makes me question why I'm even playing it, yet I can't stop. Honestly though the mechanics of this game are infinitely deep and fascinating. I will forever suck at this game, but I don't think I care anymore cos with friends it can either be the most enjoyable and satisfying experience or the reason why I have nightmares and cry at night. No game has that kind of emotional toll on me and I think just for that It's pretty damn impressive. Only real bug with the game is the lack of balance in every patch, seems with whatever they add they break something else. I'd like to also mention the games art direction took a heavy hit when Valve realised they could make a billion dollars with just adding big glowing things to every character, to the point where some heroes are hard to recognise. It's not as bad as TF2 or CSGO with their hats/skins culture, but it's a free Valve game so there's unfortunately going to be that problem forever now.

Great MOBA that makes every game insanely different through its mechanical depth, even when it's just the same 5v5 all pick game. You don't have to pay for anything to enjoy the full game and hopefully it will stay that way.

If you like mindless shooting, survival, crafting and base building then there are games that do all those better. This game should not carry the Fallout name, but this is Bethesda now. What used to be a series of well crafted RPGs with interesting worlds and stories is now just average looter shooters with the hint of Fallout's aesthetic. Expect nothing more of this series of games or Bethesda. Fallout is not an RPG series anymore and that would be okay if they brought something new to the table instead of making yet another game in the over-saturated mediocre survival games genre. It's a soulless multiplayer survival crafting game with a Fallout coat of paint. No need to mention how rough this game was on launch and I played it fairly close to that before it was released on Steam, it was pretty damn bad, however even without bugs this game is a boring grind.

This game has quickly become one of my favourites.
It's pretty much everything I want out of an open RPG.

Choosing from a few basic starting stories you are completely free to do whatever you want after that.
You start from near nothing (depending on which start you choose) then venture on almost completely blind to what's ahead. There are simple tutorials telling you the basics that don't interrupt the flow of gameplay, and you're free to do whatever. Recruit members to your squad, build bases, become a trader, be a thief, a warrior, bounty hunter, farmer or just explore to your heart's content.
The world is huge and full of different races, creatures and strange environments, all zones very unique and filled with interesting lore, cultures and characters you can recruit in to your squad.

Word of warning this game gets very grindy, but I grew up playing WoW so I've had my fair share and sort of enjoy it.
You will get your ass kicked easily if you're not careful, but this game gives you the freedom to avoid the combat and difficult encounters if you like, though you probably will end up having to train for fights to progress in to the later stages of base building.

The game has so much to it and it's super immersive and involved, not perfect, still a little bit of jank and some things are bugged or not implemented correctly but for what this game is, it's worth looking over the small issues.

Definitely worth checking out if you're into open world RPGs or RTS games or even just looking to relax in a huge world with no story to interrupt you.

Feels very fast, lots of varieties of F1 cars to race in singleplayer and online.

Career is great but they've sort of ditched the story characters in place of having an alternate team career mode.

Making your own team is quite fulfilling and very fun to customise your teams drivers and cars.

Basically everything feels more refined and a bit more video game like than the last game but still with simulation options available.

Keep in mind I'm playing on a wheel not controller.
