It sucks that episode Algis is locked behind the expansion pass. I wish there was a way that you can buy it separate from the rest of the dlc. Also the most expensive versions of the game don't include the expansion pass (wtf).

Base game is amazing, all the QoL changes are amazing and the game runs extremely well.

Why is the killzone collab so expensive? This should've been in a warbond format instead of a superstore limited time buy. This entire set is the price of almost 2 warbonds.

(was on superstore for 5 days, now 10)

Weapon 615 sc
Armour 500 sc
Helmet 310 sc
Cape 310 sc
Title 150 sc
Banner 90 sc
Total: 1975 sc

The amount of greed from Sony is baffling and makes me worried for the future. Especially if you're going to have weapons/strategems/etc as supercredits purchase only. Please do not implement this as an ongoing live service feature.

Edit: They made the 2nd half of the collab free (was originally also priced at ~2k SC).

Gameplay is great and thankfully the devs listen to the feedback and so I hope that in the future, collabs will be in a better state upon release.

Predatory microtransactions added on top of being bought out by Tencent.

No thanks.

Story sucks, choices are meaningless, and game play wise, it is kind of mid compared to the first game.

Go play the first dying light, pretend this one never existed.

Melina is hot

it's 2022 GOTY but it could be more if it implemented the seemless co op mod into the base game.

A better version of Diablo 3 in some aspects and others not so much.

A BAD ARPG Grind
Similarly to most popular ARPGs, chasing higher gear score to play higher tier content is what Lost Ark is best at.

Unfortunately because of daily restrictions (mobile game daily limit) and wierd character bound resources (the resources are shared in KR/JP/RU servers) you're forced to make multiple characters to play and are expected to farm every daily activity on each character every day just to obtain enough resources to have a minute % chance of upgrading one piece of equipment to the next level on your main character.

This becomes less of spending time to grind to get better equipment and more of spending time to hope that RNGesus blesses your gear to the next level. And of course, you can spend real world money to buy gold from the store to buy resources off the marketplace to have a chance of upgrading your gear.

Besides the daily limit/weekly limits on content that you can grind (similar to mobile games) you have battlepasses and other forms of "progression" found similarly in popular mobile games. Heck, the leveling system for gear progression is essentially a gacha game, with rates at gear score 1300+ starting in single digit percentages that go up until you hit hard pity at 100%.

From my experience. once you reach the end-game, the game becomes less of a game and more of a second part time job, especially when you have friends or clan mates that want to play the next content update with you and unless you get incredibly lucky with your rolls, you're going to be behind if you miss any days due to real life obligations like work and school etc.

I realized the problem with this game when a clan mate asked me to borrow my steam account so that they could trade my existing resources to their account so that they could meet the requirements to enter the next raid.

Avoid this game like the plague if you're someone with real life obligations and commitments. This game is secretly a mobile game gacha hell in disguise.

Also they have gender locked character classes.

The skins are really pretty though.

"iT's SMT WiThOuT tHe hEaRt aND a DaSh oF dYnAsTy wArRiOrS." - IGN 2021.

The story/setting:
This game continues the story line from the original Persona 5 ending. It follows Joker and the Phantom Thieves as they traverse around Japan during their summer vacation with many exciting locales and palaces (jails) to explore and fight through! Anyone who has played the previous titles (P5/P5R) will understand many of the references made in this title.

Gameplay:
Combat has been changed from turn based to a more dynasty warriors-esque 1 vs 100 type deal but still having the familiar persona combat system implemented in its RPG predecessor. Each member of the phantom thieves have their own unique persona to level up and as well as melee combos to learn which can be quite satisfying. Being able to see each member of the phantom thieves in combat fighting shadows alongside Joker is quite pleasing. Each individual character have a "show-time" ability that is built up through combat and it acts as a ultimate skill from each character's specific personas.

While it took a little time to get used to, using personas in combat can be quite hectic since combat quite fast paced and would be more difficult if not for the time freeze when aiming skills over an area of enemies. Anyone who has played previous Persona or SMT titles will be familiar with the weakness system. Additionally fusion of personas (or demons) returns again in this title with a more simplified system than it's predecessors.

RPG elements:
A lot of the social interactions between individual characters have been stripped out, in favor of a bond system that levels up and gives points for you to allocate into improving the phantom thieves team abilities as a whole. While there are still group events and small hang out events between characters that give you bond points and additional rewards for completing them all of the romance and dating systems in the main line games have been completely removed.

Verdict:
Persona 5 Strikers is a perfectly balanced game that takes the RPG elements of its predecessors and implements it well into a dynasty warriors type of game. While I do wish that social links were still a part of this game, the gameplay and story will easily keep any persona/SMT fan entertained for over 70 - 80 hours long depending on how much of a completionist you are.
