Looks like the 90s.
Plays like the 2000s.
Everything is incredible: the AI, the sound design, the level design, the destructible environments, the crazy amount of secrets and Easter eggs... I can't wait for the next episode!

This is quite disappointing. Nothing is designed correctly.
There are a ton of useless notifications like "you have too much money" but nothing to tell you that your cities or units get attacked. In general, the lack of visual or sound feedback is very sad. Everything lacks life.
Gwendoline Christie is fantastic but why does she has so few lines?
The age system makes no sense. A Saw Pit is ageless but a University is not?
The Commanders are pointless. Sure it helps to move an army but you still need to deploy it to attack so it doesn't solve the carpets of doom.
The civilopedia is useless. Nothing is organized correctly. It misses hyperlinks, pictures and a decent search engine.
The lack of automotion is just sad. You cannot click on a civic or tech to research everything in between. You cannot automate exploration. And even simple things: when you click on "Repair building" after a disaster, it makes you click on the correct tile even though it already knows which one it is.
No Steam Cloud. I know there's a "crossplay saves" system but why reinventing the wheel? It's not like I'm going to buy the game on a different platform...
In general, the game feels like an endless stream of rewards. New civic! New tech! New leader points! New legacy points! New celebration! It's Christmas every turn!

Well that was quite wonderful. Thank you for adding this to the Portalverse.

The second to last level should be taught in game design school.

It's one of those games where your friends keep telling you it's the best game they have ever played and you're like "Yeah whatever. Been there, heard that." And then you play it. And now you're telling your friends it's the best game you've ever played.
