I picked up a life sized doll and it instantly tried to have it's way with me.

It's basically 2K23 but better.

Universe doesn't have much new added to it, but it is way smoother this year.

I do not acknowledge Roman Reigns.

Good game though!

Well. I bought it. I see why this is game of the year now. I can't stop. I close the game only to open it minutes later. I have enough self-awareness to see this will be a problem but not enough self-awareness to do anything about it.

Single player is absolutely worth the price...when it is on sale. I've purchased this game on PS3, PS4, and PC...twice now. Definitely wait for a sale to get ready for GTA VI in 2025!

Online is not even worth a look. Don't bother. I'll never forgive online killing the chances of getting our single player DLC...

I will never understand why people rate this as one of the better COD games.

Movement sucks.

Gameplay is boring.

The campaign is an absolute disgrace to the Black Ops storyline.

It baffles me when people say this game is underrated. To me, it is 100 percent overrated.

Purchased the game on launch day in 2020. Put in 50ish hours and dropped the game sometime in 2021. While I enjoyed the game at release, it did have a rough launch.

Now in 2023, after the 2.0 update, this game feels wayyyy different.

Combat is fluid. Driving is on point. Beautiful graphics. Tons of stuff to do, and I haven't even purchased the DLC yet. Night City might just be the most immersive open world I've ever experienced in a game. The 2.0 update has made the game world feel ALIVE, and if you have a decent rig that can push this game to the max, it really is something to behold.

I can easily recommend this game in 2023. Looking forward to playing the DLC eventually, and excited to see what CDPR can bring to the sequel. Let's hope they learned their lesson with the release of this game.

[[Updated impressions after almost 60 hours of play time]]

Wow, what a ride the last 55+ hours of this game has been. In terms of my previous impressions, only one con needs to change to a pro, and that is the ship combat. It has grown on me (or rather, I've gotten better at it) and I find it extremely enjoyable to participate in the ship combat now.

At the time, I hadn't dived into ship building yet, and OH BOY, it is without a doubt one of the best parts of the game. I have started building ships only to realize an hour or two has blown by. Even with it's limitations, the ship building is addictive and super enjoyable. I say all this even though I am probably one of the most artistically challenged individuals on the planet.

Let's talk about the story. While somewhat forgettable in some areas (as is the case with most Bethesda titles), I found myself super immersed in the world and the role playing elements. I deeply became immersed in my character and their life, their friends and their love interest. Without spoiling anything, the choice you can make at the end before entering new game+ genuinely left me questioning what I wanted to do. I've never had a games story do that to me before.

Final thoughts - I really believe in my humble opinion, that this is Bethesda's greatest game yet. As much as I love Fallout I cannot deny the hold this game has on me. I can envision my self playing this game for many more hours, especially when you add mods and future DLC into the mix.

Of course, this is just my experience with the game. It is completely okay if you don't like the game for whatever reason. But for me, this is an amazing Bethesda game that immerses you in its world and is just damn good fun! Hopefully we can get the issues with performance fixed, and hopefully either Bethesda or a modder can add city maps!

[[Initial first impressions after 4 hours of play time listed below]]

Just a few impressions after playing the game for a few hours

(Pros)
- Feels like a good ol' Bethesda game
- On foot combat is enjoyable, better than Fallout 4
- Loving the different planets so far
- Quests are super fun

(Cons)
- Runs like ass on a 5600X and 3070 Ti. Of course it's a Bethesda game, but still. They've been making games for years, no excuses to have this level of subpar performance. Graphics are average at best, but improved from FO4
- Inventory management is a downgrade from base unmodded Fallout 4, which also sucked without mods but was better than this game
- Ship combat is horrendous on KBM, not sure about controller
- Map navigation is another downgrade from previous games

All in all, even with the cons I'm really enjoying it. Even with the standard Bethesda loading screens and jank I'm still finding myself quite immersed and itching to play more. Excited to see what future updates bring and what the glorious modding community can do. We all know they can be more competent than Bethesda themselves most of the time. I can recommend this game but be aware of the cons going into it.
