One of the greatest content per dollar values you'll find in modern survival games. It had a rocky start but the creator, Sean Murray, is dedicated to turning things around by continuously adding new content.

Fun, yet maddening.

Really interesting take on the 4X genre. If you enjoy games like Civilization or Endless Legend, and you're a fan of Norse Mythology, give it a try.

Dead Island. Dead Island on release was an incredibly buggy mess with plastic looking textures and what felt to be an entirely unrefined experience.

Fast-forward two weeks, the game is patched, playable and still feels a bit rough around the edges, but remains entertaining for a few hours regardless. It's meant for co-op and that's where you'll have the most fun.

The melee system is different, you'll sometimes feel yourself swinging at what feels like a 6 foot tall brick-wall, because some of the weapons are really, really weak. The bladed weapons are really fun, guns can be fun but are pretty scarce.

The level-up and progression system plays a lot like Borderlands. I wouldn't say the game is really worth checking out, if you don't, you aren't missing too much.
