The story is very disjointed because it's jumping from different perspectives and timelines. That would be okay if the writing was good but unfortunately it's not that exciting. Another negative, it's reusing a lot of assets and partially repeating the same story from the original game, makes me think this is a cash grab.

Deep dive into the future
Hard Sci-fi that is easy to read but can get busy with the amount of events. The story is fun and it moves at a very fast speed compared to other SciAdv tiles. The characters are relatable but unfortunately we don't get the complexity or in-depth backstory like in STEINS;GATE. Also the production values are good, there are a lot of backgrounds and animations that make you feel like this world is alive. The game has both English and Japanese voices overs.

The downside is that the full price is a bit much. I got it on deep sale and I don't regret it.

What I like about this game is that it does something different and I was thinking about the game after I finished it.

Your getting a co-op only game and it's really fun if you can find a good buddy to play with. At first I was put off with the stylized visuals but I ended up liking them after an hour of play. In the end I was blown away by the presentation and all the stuff you get to experience. I enjoyed this as much as Portal 2 co-op. While a bit short, this is a must buy if you enjoy platforming and light puzzles.

Simple easy read that flows well. This VN is fun, a bit funny in an awkward kind of way. The visuals are really nice, it somehow reminded me of an action anime series aimed for young men or "Shonen". There are waifus and some fan service. While it's mostly an supernatural adventure, the characters offer some grounding to the story. I wasn't bored with the whole thing, it was a good read where I don't have to think too much and enjoy the ride.

Solid Co-op Experience
Remnant 2 is a good shooting game with some souls like elements and is very similar to the first game. It's simple to play and exploring is interesting with a lot of secrets to find. Pacing is decent but sometimes the dialog with some NPC takes took long and can break the flow in co-op. I finished the game at least 4 times in order to get items and play at higher difficulty, so the game has definitely a bit of replay value.

It's simple to play but difficult to play optimally with no guide

A good action game with friends or solo. I just wish I could make a decent character because the choices are overwhelming lol.

Power Fantasy Action
Like most Final Fantasy games this one has great world building. FF16 starts of strong in a complex world with a classic good vs evil story. The main characters are well portrayed with great voice acting. Writing and story is plentiful and mostly good, sometimes it even feels really great. The graphics and special effects are really nice and complements the action part of the game. Gameplay reminds me of games like "Devil May Cry" and it really feels epic at times. The soundtrack is superb.

As for downsides, the loot is really boring. Also, I was expecting free roam exploration to be an important part of the game but it turns out it was a major letdown.
Conclusion
FF16 succeeds at being a mature action game just be prepared for a lot of cutscenes as the story is pretty big. The overall experience good and worth it.

An interesting and weird series of events

Those innocent first few moments will develop with intrigue that will keep you coming back for more. Just be careful, it's not for the faint of heart as it does rely a bit on shock factor to advance the story.

It's not perfect and is not for everyone but overall it's well written.

Great skill customization while keeping the game easy to play

I personally found the amount of passive skills to choose was a bit much. I'd rather have less choices but more meaningful ones.

The campaign is a bit on the easy side except for a few bosses near the end. Unfortunately the story is a bit of a mess, it's all over the place. You're constantly meeting new NPCs and almost all of those don't develop the story into something interesting.

The gameplay is well made except I experienced a lot of lag on my low powered PC. Some people complained about stiff animations, but I don't think it that bad especially if you consider that this was made by an independent developer. It's all good but just don't expect the polish of a AAA game.

For people new to the ARPG genre you may want to try Diablo 4, if you want something a bit more complex then this game may be for you.

A visual novel when you want some scares, but also get them from bad design

Having played the first title of Spirit Hunter: Death Mark, I was a little let down by some of the gameplay elements. Well this game is worse. There are too many events with multiple choice questions that don't make too much sense to me. When failing those you have to start the section over and over until you get it right. It did not appeal to me at all and I really dislike those parts. In the end I had to play with a guide that I found on Steam. The exploration part is point and click style and it's good. It changes the pacing of the game and usually it is not difficult to know where to go next.

The story starts off slow, but picks up a few hours in and it did keep me engaged into reading all of it. The writing style is very functional but it's missing a special feel.

If you want to play a scary visual novel I would recommend the original Spirit Hunter: Death Mark over this one. While Spirit Hunter: NG is a good VN, it could have been greater with a little more work.
